Finbar Murphy, Battery Court and formerly of Ferefad, Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, surrounded by his family in the exceptional care of the nurses and staff of Sunset Lodge at St. Joseph’s Care Centre, on Monday, December 26 of Finbar Murphy, Battery Court and formerly of Ferefad, Longford Town, Longford. Finbar will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, wife Geraldine, daughter Elaine (Australia), sons Colin (London), Barry (Liverpool), Kieran (Bermuda) and Noel (Brussels), sisters Anita Cawley and Gráinne Foley, brothers John and Aidan, daughters-in-law Ann and Laura, Noel’s fiancée Sinead, grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road on Thursday, December 29 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, December 30 at 11am in St Mel’s Cathedral, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery. Gerard (Gerry) Daly, Central Park, Clane, Kildare / Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Suncroft Lodge Nursing Home, on Friday, December 23, 2022 of Gerard (Gerry) Daly, Central Park, Clane, Co Kildare and late of Annaly Park, Longford. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary, children Laurence, Rebecca and John, grandchildren Lauren, Aaron, Laylah and Lacie, mother Helen, brothers Donal and Tommy, sisters Patricia and Peggy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rest In Peace.
Reposing at Reilly's Funeral Home, Woods House, Clane (W91YPX4) on Thursday, December 29 from 2-6pm. A celebration of life will take place at Reilly's Funeral Home, Woods House, Clane on Friday, December 30 at 10am, followed by cremation in Newlands Cross Crematorium. The death occurred,  peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Thomond Lodge Nursing Home, on Friday, December 23, 2022 of David Tanner, Ards, Kenagh, Longford. Predeceased by his parents James and Annie, brother Frank and by his sister Eleanor. David will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, sister Louie, brother-in-law Norman Judge, nephew David, relatives, neighbours and friends. At rest.

The death occurred, peacefully at Sligo University Hospital, on Monday, December 26, 2022 of Patsy Canning, Corracaboon, Mohill, Leitrim. Predeceased by his father Patrick, mother Mary Anne (neé Cassells) brother Micheal. Deeply regretted by Micheal's family (London) cousins, neighbours and many friends. May Patsy's Gentle soul rest in Peace.

Margaret Sheridan (née McGovern), Druminchin, Carrigallen, Leitrim / Corlough, Cavan


The death occurred, peacefully at Sligo General Hospital, on Sunday, December 25, 2022 of Margaret Sheridan (née McGovern), Druminchin, Carrigallen, Leitrim and formerly of Corlough, Cavan. Sadly missed by her husband Tommy, daughter Siobhan, son in Law Hugh og and adored granchildren Rian, Sophie and Darragh, nephews Ray and Danny, sisters in laws and a wide circle of family of friends.
Reposing at Smyth's Funeral Home, High Street, Ballinamore eircode (N41TD62) from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, December 27. Funeral Mass in Saint Mary's Church, Carrigallen on Thursday, December 29 at 11am with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery. House private at all times please. 

Peggy Moroney (née Monaghan, Retired NT.), Drumbannow, Loughduff, Cavan


The death occurred,  suddenly, peacefully at her home, on Saturday, December 24, 2022 of Peggy Moroney (née Monaghan, Retired NT.), Drumbannow, Loughduff, Cavan. Predeceased by her loving husband Michael. Sadly missed by her children Gerard (Helen), Liam (Sharon), Catriona (Padraic), Marina (Michael), Laura (Bernard) and Aideen (Peter), her adored 19 grandchildren and great-grandson, sisters Molly (Sr. Jeanne) Patricia and Anna, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, former teaching colleagues, neighbours and a large circle of friends. May she rest in peace.

The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Arus Carolan Nursing Home, Mohill, on Friday, December 23, 2022 of Michael (Mehal) Cumiskey, Green Road, Mohill, Leitrim. Predeceased by his beloved wife; Susan, brothers; Fr. P.J. (New Zealand) and John, (Ballinamore) sister; Maura Faughnan (Annaduff). Mehal will be sadly missed by his devoted daughter; Catherine , his son in law; Sean and grandchildren; Liam , Conor and Donnacha , his sister; Teasie Reynolds (Dublin), his brother; Fr. The death occurred, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and in the care of the excellent staff of Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan, on Thursday, December 22, 2022 of Anthony (Tony) Morris, Aylesbury Lodge, Navan, Meath and formerly of Lough Gowna, Co Cavan and The Ferdia Arms, Ardee, Co Louth. Predeceased by his infant son David Anthony, father James, mother Bridget, brother Peadar and sisters Mary and Ann. Tony will be very sadly missed by his loving wife Katherine, son Michael, daughters Noelle and Angie, grandchildren Brianna, Jake, Layla, Danny and Abbie, daughter-in-law Nora and son-in-law Marcus, Derek, brothers Fr Michael (Ferbane, Co Offaly), Brian and Gerry (New York), sisters Betty (Boston), Breege (New York), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends. The death occurred, peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff of College View Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 of Colm Gormley, Gartylough, Arva, Cavan. 
Loving husband of Marjorie and dear father of Alice (Jim), Michael (Melinda), Kevin (Elin), Mairead and Joan (Raymond). Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, brother Fr Kevin (Missouri), sister Chris Hourican (Fostra), sons in law, daughters in law, his adored grandchildren Alan, Ealanor, Conor, Stephen, Aoibheann, Niamh, Darragh, Eoin, Aoife, Áine and Aisling, great-grandchildren, Jasper, Freya, Maeve and Patrick, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Removal from Lakelands Funeral Home on Tuesday morning, December 27 at 10.30am to the Sacred Heart Church, Arva to arrive for Requiem Mass at 11am, interment afterwards in Coronea, cemetery. May He Rest In Peace. 

Michael Patrick Greene, Strokestown, Roscommon


The death occurred, peacefully, in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 of Michael Patrick Greene, of Birmingham, and formerly of Strokestown, Roscommon. Predeceased by his brothers, Frank, Anthony, Tommy, Johnny and sister Mary and wives Kitty and Maureen. Michael deeply regretted and remembered by his sisters Peggy and Nancy and brother-in-law Tom Fisher, and John Orahoe, daughter Pamela, son-in-law Lou sons Kieran and Adrian, daughter-in-laws, Helen and Caroline, grandchildren, Nicholas, Eleanor, Alexis, Talia, Francesca, Marijka, Lorna, Cairstine and Patric. Great grandchildren, Harry, Rory, Conor and Douglas. Also by his many nephews and nieces.
Requiem Mass on Friday, January 27 at 11:30 am at St Joseph's and Helen's Kings Norton, Birmingham, followed by cremation at Lodge Hill Crematorium, Selly Oak, Birmingham. May he rest in peace.
