The death occurred, peacefully in the excellent care of the nurses and staff of The Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar, on Thursday, November 24, 2022 of Peter McLoughlin, Clooneena, Longford. Predeceased by his mother Margaret, father Jimmy and by his infant sister Mary. Peter will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, sisters Ann, Imelda, Mairead and Helen, brothers John and Jim, sister-in-law Mary, nieces Maria, Olivia and Grace, nephew Daniel, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
Removal on Sunday, November 27 to arrive at St Mel’s Cathedral for prayers at 7pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, November 28 at 11am, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live please go to www.longfordparish.com House private, please.

The death occurred, peacefully, in Thomond Lodge Nursing Home on Thursday, November 24, 2022 of Lily Egan (née Cox), 4 Leo Casey Terrace, Ballymahon, Longford. Predeceased by her husband Patrick and her daughter-in-law Christina. Sadly missed by her loving family, her sons and daughters, Mary, Philip, Avril, Paula, Dymphna, David and Alan and their partners, her beloved grandchildren and great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. Rest in Peace.
Reposing at her residence all day this Saturday, November 26. Funeral Mass on Sunday, November 27 at 1pm in St Matthew's Church Ballymahon, followed by burial in Forgney Cemetery.

The death occurred, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in Mullingar Regional Hospital, on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 of Ann (Anne) McCauley (née Nally), Bohernacross, Edgeworthstown, Longford. She is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Bridget and her brother Paddy. Ann will be sadly missed by her family, husband Pat, sons Enda, Kevin, Martin and Patrick, daughters Olive and Sinéad, sons-in-law John and Paddy, daughters-in-law, Chrissy, Laura, Marie and Zuzana, her adored grandchildren Callum, Shane, Megan, Kobe, Kadri, Mason, Aoife, Rossa and Kai, sisters Kathleen, May and Chris, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and dear friends. Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace Ann.

John Eivers, Jobstown, Tallaght, Dublin / Carrickboy, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of the staff in Wicklow Hospice, on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 of John Eivers, Jobstown, Dublin 24 and formerly of Carrickboy, Co. Longford. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Maura and loving and devoted dad of Christopher, Sharon, John, Thomas, Niall, Lucia and Mark. John will be forever loved and very sadly missed by his loving family, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, brothers Frank, Alo, Kevin and the late T.J., sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, wide circle of friends and neighbours. Predeceased by her parents Tom and Bridie. The death occurred  on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 of Hugh Shannon, Slough, England and formerly of Minard, Longford. Predeceased by his father Joe and by his infant brother Patrick.
Hugh will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, fiancée Michelle, mother Kathleen, sisters Dolores (Noble), Catherine (Sheahan) and Brenda, brothers Joseph, Gerry, Fr. The death occurred, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends, on Thursday, November 24, 2022 of Marie Crudden (née McKiernan), Loughdavan, Loughduff, Cavan. Predeceased by her parents James and Mary Kate and her sister Catherine. The death occurred, peacefully at his home, on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 of Ronnie McDermott, Cloonslanor, Strokestown, Roscommon. Predeceased by his parents Christy and Annie, brothers Peter, Francie, Vincent, Noel and Ally, sisters Maureen, Anne, Teenie, Rose and Angela, and his daughter Mairead. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Mary, daughters Sharon Harrington, Sandra Hallinan and Tracey, sons Noel, Ronan and Barry, daughters in law, sons in law, grandchildren, brother Christy, nephews, nieces, brothers in law, sisters in law, relatives and friends. Reposing at McHugh's Funeral Home, Strokestown on Friday evening, November 25 from 6pm to 8pm. Removal to the Parish Church on Saturday, November 26 to arrive for Funeral Mass at 10am followed by burial in the local cemetery. The death occurred, peacefully, in the wonderful care of all the staff at Shannon Lodge Nursing Home, on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 of Maura Tighe (née Reynolds). Beloved wife of Vincent and much loved mother of Seamus, Vincent, Assumpta (Duignan), Marie (Clancy), Kathleen (Hanley) and Angela. She will be greatly missed by her family, daughters in law Rita and Mellory, sons in law John, Frank, Matt and Barry, her eighteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Maureen Butler (née Reilly), Brentford, Middlesex and formerly of Templemichael Terrace, Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully at her residence, on Tuesday, November 8 of Maureen Butler (née Reilly), Brentford, Middlesex and formerly of Templemichael Terrace, Longford Town, Longford. Predeceased by her beloved husband Paddy and daughter Mary. Her brothers; Michael, John, Bernard, Anthony and sister Rose.
Maureen will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family, son John, daughter-in-law Sally, her granddaughter Siobhan and her partner George, grandson Donal, her much loved great granddaughters Sophie and Rubi , brother Jimmy , sisters Lilly (Millward) and Mary (O'Connor), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and her many dear friends. Her funeral service will be held on December 6 at St Bridget’s in Isleworth TW7 6DL with cremation afterwards at Mortlake Crematorium, London TW9 4EN.

Rev Michael Doyle, Camden, NJ and late of Rossduff, Aughnacliffe, Longford


The death occurred on Friday November 4, 2022, one day after his 88th birthday, of Rev Michael Doyle, Camden, New Jersey and formerly of Rossduff, Aughnacliffe, County Longford. He is survived by his sister Phyllis O’Reilly and her husband Johnny, his sister-in-law Margaret Doyle, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John Doyle and Rosetta Creegan Doyle, his brothers Pat Doyle and Fr. J.J. Doyle, sister Anna Mae Doyle (Sr Concepta) and his niece Sinead O’Reilly. May he rest in peace.
A Funeral Mass led by Camden Bishop Dennis Sullivan will be held on Friday, November 11 at 11:30am (4:30pm Irish time) at the Sacred Heart Church, the parish he led for 46 years. A Parish Mass will be held on Saturday, November 12 at 10:30am (3:30pm Irish time). The Masses will be live streamed at www.sacredheartofcamden.com/live-stream. Burial will follow the parish Mass at Harleigh Cemetery in Camden. A Mass of Remembrance will be held on December 8 at 7:30pm in St Colmcille Church, Aughnacliffe. Fr Doyle was an advocate for Peace and Justice all his life.
