Jean Armstrong, Hillfield, Kenagh, Co Longford
The death occurred, peacefully, in the tender care of the staff at Thomond Lodge Nursing Home, Ballymahon, Co Longford, on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 of Jean Armstrong, Hillfield, Kenagh, Co Longford.
Predeceased by her parents John and Margaret, her twin brother Robin and by her sister Bess. Jean will be greatly missed by her sister Anne (London), nieces Rosemary and Fiona, nephew Eain, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends. Safe in the arms of Jesus.
Jean's Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, March 19 in St George's Church, Kenagh, at 11.30am followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

John Brendan Ward, Lanesboro, Co Longford / Lucan, Dublin


The death occurred, peacefully surrounded by his family in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar, on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 of John Brendan Ward (Happy), Lanesboro, Co Longford and formerly Lucan, Co Dublin.
Brendan will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, daughters, Lorraine and Tonette, son Mark, grandchildren Jordan, Leon, Dylan, Dwayne, Courtney, Sophie, Renee, great grandchildren Hayden and Elijah, sisters Maura, Theresa, Loretta, Harriette and brother Martin, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h'anam dílis.
Reposing at Farrell's Funeral Home, Lanesboro (N39 E761) on Saturday, March 19 from 11am to 12.30pm. Removal to St Mary's Church, Lanesboro, for Funeral Mass at 1pm. Burial afterwards in Clonbonny Cemetery.

Matthew (Matt) Sexton, Bray, Wicklow / Aughnacliffe, Co Longford


The death occurred, quietly & without fuss, while in the exceptional loving & compassionate care of the entire management & staff of Cairnhill Nursing Home, Herbert Road, Bray, on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 of Matthew (Matt) Sexton of Sidmonton Avenue, Bray, Co Wicklow, formerly Aughnacliffe, Co. Longford & The Strand Hotel, Bray, Co Wicklow.
Beloved husband of the late Aideen (née McHenry), & brother of the late Francie. Remembered with love by his family, son Peter, daughter Mary, sisters Rose McKeon & May Reilly, brother Pat, grandchildren Maitiu, Liam, Ronan & Madeline (Maddy), daughter-in-law Bonnie (née Hoffman), son-in-law Ned King, brother-in-law Michael, sister-in-law Kathleen, nieces & nephews Breege Bohan, Niall Reilly, Gerard Reilly, Siobhan Reilly, Eamon Reilly, Julie Sexton, PJ Sexton, John Tough & Clare Kingston, extended family, neighbours & large circle of friends.
Peter & Mary would like to take this opportunity to thank most sincerely Matt’s nephew John Tough who was a tremendous comfort & someone dad could always depend on, his amazing neighbours of Warburton Terrace, Margaret & Johnny Fitzsimons, Bray meals on wheels, The Duggan family (Martello Bray) & all those who made his last few years somewhat easier & possible to live alone right up until five weeks ago. Thank you all so much.
Matt will rest at home from 4pm on Saturday March 19, 2022. Removal on Sunday, March 20 at 12.20pm walking to Holy Redeemer Church, Main Street, Bray, arriving for prayers at 1pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, March 21 at 10am after which Matt will be laid to rest with his beloved Aideen in Springfield Cemetery, Killarney Road, Bray. John Lennon, 10 Earlsvale Road, Cavan Town, Cavan / Moatefarrell, Co Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, at home, in his 89th year, in the devoted care of his family following many illnesses borne with quiet acceptance, on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 of John Lennon, BE, MIEI, 10 Earlsvale Road, Cavan, former Ballinagh Area Engineer, Cavan County Council.
Predeceased by his parents James and Helen, Lisameen, Moatfarrell, Co Longford, his brothers Jim and Eugene and his nephew Jimmy (New Jersey). John will be greatly missed and forever remembered with love by his wife Anne, daughter Elaine, son Gavin (Lynne) his cherished granddaughter Grace and grandson Jake, his brother Enda (New Jersey), sisters Veronica Lennon (London) and Anne King (Dublin) : nieces, nephews, sisters- in- law Irene and Bernadette, the extended Murray family, former colleagues in Cavan County Council, Irish Land Commission, Longford County Council, the Crown Service, Maiduguri, Nigeria, many friends, good neighbours, devoted carers and his former golf 'buddies.' May He Rest In Peace. 
Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Road, Cavan on Friday evening, March 18 from 5pm until 7pm. For the protection of all, please wear a mask, no hand shakes and observe social distancing guidelines. Requiem Mass to give thanks for John's long life will take place at 12 noon on Saturday March 19 in the Cathedral of St. Patrick & Felim, Cavan, followed by removal to Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan. Mass can be viewed live on cavantownparish.com. No flowers please and House Private.
