Maureen Dolan, Fee Court and formerly of Great Water Street, Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 of Maureen Dolan, Fee Court and late of Great Water Street, Longford Town, Longford. Predeceased by her parents Patrick (Pat) and Elizabeth and by her sister Nora. Sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, daughter Aédan, son Conor, sisters Breege, Betty (Farrelly) and Cathy, brother Padraig, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral home, Ballinalee Road on Friday, February 4 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7.00pm (walk through only). Mass of the Resurrection at 11am on Saturday, February 5 in St Mel’s Cathedral, followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium at 1.30pm. The mass will be streamed live click here

Mary Williamite, Haan, Germany, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully in Germany, on Thursday, January 27, 2022 of Mary Williamite, Haan, Germany and formerly of 4 Bannon Terrace. Longford. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Hans.
Mary will be forever missed by her family and friends, son Thomas, daughter-in-law Mareike, treasured grandchildren Jonas and Marlene, nephews, cousins and by her many dear friends here in Longford and Germany. As you were, you will always be treasured forever in our memory. Rest in Peace.
Mary's funeral took place in Haan, Germany, on February 2.

Mary McDermott (née Carroll), Lisnacusha, Lanesboro, Longford, N39 KX26


The death occurred, peacefully, in the presence of her loving family, on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 of Mary Mc Dermott (nee Carroll), Lisnacusha, Lanesboro, Co Longford, late of Mohill and Longford Town. Predeceased by her loving husband Alex and her dear brother Willie. Mary will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family, Sean, Alicia, Charles, Alexander, daughters in law Philomena, Orla, Jane, son in law Walter, sister in law Philomena USA, her adoring grandchildren Alex, Emily, Kayla, Dylan, Fionn, Hazel, Rian, cousins, neighbours, extended family and friends. The death occurred on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 of Oran Donohoe ‘Glenview House’, Glencurran, Carrickaboy, Co. Cavan. Predeceased by his Grandad Michael Donohoe. Cherished son of Seamus and Jacinta, (née Tynan) loving brother of Kiara, Regan and Caolain. Sadly missed by his loving parents, Seamus and his partner Ann Meade, Jacinta and her partner Tony Corcoran and his children Laurine, Dylan and Sean, brothers, sister, grandparents Elizabeth Donohoe, Michael and Kitty Tynan, uncles Martin Donohoe, Damien, Michael Jnr, Alan and David Tynan, aunts, Geraldine, Clare and Teresa Donohoe, Leighanne and Janine Tynan, cousins and a large circle of friends.
Reposing at his home (walk through only) on Thursday, February 3 from 2pm until 9pm. House private at all other times please.
Removal on Friday morning, February 4 at 11.30am to St Matthew's Church Drumavaddy to arrive for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in the adjoining new cemetery. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

The death occurred, peacefully after a long illness extremely bravely borne on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 of Eithne Gillooly of Kilronan, Inishmore, Aron Island, Co Galway, formerly Granard, Co Longford, Ballinrobe, Co Mayo & Greystones, Co Wicklow.  Daughter of the late Cecil Gillooly. Remembered with love by her loving family, sons Aodán & Cian, mother Caro (née Hick), siblings Kevin, Sheila & Aideen, devoted partner Donal & his daughters Elizabeth & Michelle & all the extended Sands family, sister-in-law Yvonne, brother-in-law Bart, niece Aideen, nephews Paul & James, aunts, uncles especially Rev. The death occurred, peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital, on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 of Betty (Elizabeth) Martin (nee Shaughnessy), Drumhaldry, Moyne, Co Longford.
Predeceased by her husband Pat. Deeply regretted and loving mother of James, Helena, John and Kevin, daughters in law Shirley and Donna, son in law Paul, grandchildren Aoife, Keith, Aaron, Jamie, Dylan, Summer, Cian, Patrick and Ella, brother Sean, sisters Judy and Mary, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The death occurred on Friday, January 28, 2022 of Juris Revics, Prospect Woods, Longford town and formerly of Latvia.
Juris will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, daughter Samatha and her mother Elina, mother Veronika and father Aivars, sisters Dace Orlovska and Kristine Revica, nieces and nephews Oskars, Martins, Denize, Dita, godmother Biruta, godfather Uldis, relatives and friends. The death occurred, suddenly, but peacefully at his residence, on Sunday, January 30, 2022 of James (Jim) Groarke, Magdelene Court, Kells, Meath and formerly Ballymahon Co. Longford.
Predeceased by his parents James & Mary, brother John (Oristown) and sister Kathleen (UK). James will be very sadly missed by his sisters-in-law Betty, niece Caroline (UK), nephews John, James, Paul, relatives, good neighbours and friends. May James Rest in Peace.
Reposing at St Joseph's Chapel of Rest Old Johnstown, Navan (C15 C425) on Friday, February 4 from 4pm followed by removal at 6pm to arrive at St. Catherine’s Church Oristown for 7pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday morning, February 5 at 9:30am. Burial afterwards in Martyr Cemetery.

The death occurred, peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, January 31, 2022 of Michael McNamee, Brownstown, Kilcloon, Meath, A85 HY28 and formerly of Corglass, Moyne, Co Longford. Deeply regretted by his children; Kevin, Theresa and Ivan and their partners, grandchildren, siblings, relatives and friends. Michael will be sadly missed and remembered with love. Mary Mulligan (née Hudson), 30 Farnagh, Longford


The death occurred, suddenly, at her home, on Sunday, January 30, 2022 of Mary Mulligan (nee Hudson), 30 Farnagh, Longford and formerly of 48 St Michael's Rd, Longford. She is predeceased by her husband Vincent, parents Peter and Elizabeth, brother John and sister Margaret and niece Liz Devine.
Mary will be truly missed by her heartbroken family, sons Vincent and his partner Teresa, and David, daughters Marie and her partner Paddy and Mags and her partner Nathan, her 9 beloved grandchildren Mark, Megan, Daniel, Jamie, Abbie, Alex, Zoe, Ryan and Ruairi, brother Peter, brother-in-law Mel Mulligan, sisters-in-law Janet and Kathleen, nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours especially Paul Galvin and her many dear friends.
We little knew that morning that God was going to call you. In life we loved you dearly, In death we'll do the same. Rest in Peace Mary.

Marcella Murrin (née Kelly), Gorvagh, Leitrim / Cloone, Leitrim / Merrion, Dublin


The death occurred, peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family and in the tender care of the staff at Lough Erril Private Nursing Home, Mohill, Co. Leitrim, on Thursday, February 3, 2022 of  Marcella Murrin (née Kelly) Merrion, Dublin 4 and formerly of Adoon, Cloone, Co. Leitrim. Beloved wife of Henry, adored mother of Helena and Celine and sister of Sean, Mel, Helen, Peter Mary, Chris and the late Paddy.
Sadly missed by her treasured grandchildren; Matthew, Ed and Beth Forbes, sons-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and friends. May Marcella Rest in Peace.

Francis Anthony (Tony) Carolan, Cloonmacart, Drumlish, Longford


The death occurred, unexpectedly at Hillingdon Hospital, London, on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 of Francis Anthony (Tony) Carolan, formerly of Cloonmacart, Drumlish, Longford.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret. He will be sadly missed by his three children Fiona, Annette, Anthony, his grandchildren Frankie, Christopher, Kerrie, Alfie, Grace, Hannah, great grandchildren, brothers, sister, relatives and many friends. He was loved by many, May he Rest in Peace.
The funeral will be arriving at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hayes, for mass at 12 noon on Friday, February 18. Burial afterwards will be at Kensal Green Cemetery, 2pm.

Kevin Quinn, England / Newtownforbes, Longford
The death occurred, in England, on Monday, January 17, 2022 of Kevin Quinn, England and formerly of Kilnashee, Longford, and 6 Castle Gardens, Newtownforbes, Co Longford.
He is predeceased by his father Henry and brother Conny. Kevin will be forever missed by his family, wife Susan, mother Nan, brothers Michael, Sean and Henry, sisters Elizabeth, Mary and Ann, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours and friends here in Ireland and England. Close to our hearts you will always stay, Loved and remembered every day. Rest in Peace Kevin.
Cremation Service will take place on February 18, 2022 in England. A Memorial Service will take place in St Mary's Church, Newtownforbes, Co Longford, at a later date.

The death occurred, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, January 13, 2022 of Kevin Dowd, London and formerly of Loughduff, Mullahoran, Co Cavan. Sadly missed by his wife Breda, children; John, Sheena, Ciara and Kevin, grandchildren; Jack and Ava, daughter-in- law Katie, sons in law; Tim and Aaron, brother John, nieces, nephews and extended family. Rest in Peace.
