Mary Mulligan (née Hudson), 30 Farnagh, Longford


The death occurred, suddenly, at her home, on Sunday, January 30, 2022 of Mary Mulligan (nee Hudson), 30 Farnagh, Longford and formerly of 48 St Michael's Rd, Longford. She is predeceased by her husband Vincent, parents Peter and Elizabeth, brother John and sister Margaret and niece Liz Devine.
Mary will be truly missed by her heartbroken family, sons Vincent and his partner Teresa, and David, daughters Marie and her partner Paddy and Mags and her partner Nathan, her 9 beloved grandchildren Mark, Megan, Daniel, Jamie, Abbie, Alex, Zoe, Ryan and Ruairi, brother Peter, brother-in-law Mel Mulligan, sisters-in-law Janet and Kathleen, nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours especially Paul Galvin and her many dear friends.
We little knew that morning that God was going to call you. In life we loved you dearly, In death we'll do the same.

The death occurred, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, January 30, 2022 of Noelle Simpson (nee Heaslip), Loch Gowna, Co Cavan.
Predeceased by her husband Billy, brothers Bobby, Willie, and Donald, sisters Olive and Mabel. Beloved mother of Anne, Willie, Phillip, Audrey, Trevor, Richard, Ronald and Ian. Will be sadly missed by her loving family, her 19 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, brother Gerry, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand nephews, grand nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours. Safe in the Arms of Jesus.
Noelle will be reposing at her home on Monday, January 31 from 5pm to 9pm and again on Tuesday, February 1 from 5pm to 9pm. Removal from her home to Lough Gowna Church of Ireland on Wednesday, February 2 for funeral service at 2pm followed by burial in adjoining graveyard. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if desired to Palliative Care Cavan.

Kevin Doherty, Catherinestown, Gaybrook, Mullingar, Co Westmeath


The death occurred,  peacefully in the Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar, on Sunday, January 30, 2022 of Kevin Doherty, Catherinestown, Gaybrook and formerly of Ballinalee, Co Longford.
Predeceased by his wife Kathleen and brothers Paddy, Brendan, Michael and Aidan; Much loved father of Julie (Clarke) and Vincent, Kevin will be dearly missed by his daughter and son, sister Sheila Tully, adored grandchildren Oisín, Seamus and Joe, son-in-law Eoin, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at his daughter's residence in Portnashangan N91CV63 on Tuesday, February 1 from 4pm until 7pm. House private thereafter please. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, February 2, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Gainstown at 12 noon, followed afterwards by burial in Kilronan Cemetery. The family would like to sincerely thank and acknowledge the excellent care given to Kevin by the staff and nurses of Cluain Lir Care Centre during his ten years stay with them. Please continue to adhere to mask wearing protocols at the house, church and cemetery. 

Jack Geraghty, St Mary's Close, Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim / Longford / Elphin, Roscommon


The death occurred,  peacefully,in his 97th year, in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Longford, on Thursday, January 27, 2022 of Jack Geraghty, St Mary's Close, Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim and  formerly of Main Street , Elphin and Kilmore Lower, Longford. Predeceased by his wife Annie (nee McGovern), father James, mother Maire, brothers Pat, Matt, Denis , Michael, William, Tom and Jim and also by his sisters Peggy and Mary Diffley (Killashee).
Jack will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, sister-in-law Kathleen Geraghty, nieces, Maureen, Anne, Caroline, Rita, Joan, Dympna, Linda and Ella, nephews Patrick, Padraig, Sean, Micheál, Brendan and Kieran, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace.
Jack’s funeral cortege will leave Glennon’s Funeral Home on Monday, January 31 at 11.30am to arrive at St.Mary’s Church, Newtownforbes for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon, followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 2pm. The Mass will be streamed live please click here

George McLoughlin, Dublin / Longford


The death occurred,  unexpectedly, surrounded by his loving family, in the kind care of the wonderful staff of the Mater Hospital, Dublin, on Friday, January 21, 2022 of George McLoughlin, Dublin / Longford. Now reunited with his beloved parents Jimmy and Stella and brother Jim. Very sadly missed by Phyllis, his sisters Ann and Mary, his brothers-in-law Michael and Donal, his niece and nephew Eve and Alex. Remembered by his two children, his aunts and cousins, many friends and former work colleagues. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Church Avenue, Blanchardstown on Tuesday evening, February 1 between 6pm and 8pm. Removal on Wednesday morning, February 2 to the Church of Our Lady Help of Christians, Navan Road arriving for Requiem Mass at 10am followed by cremation at Glasnevin Crematorium. Beloved mother of the late Claire McKevitt & sister of the late Tony, Don, Jim & Kay (Venn). Goretti was the loving wife of Billy, devoted mother of Debbie & loved by her adored grandchildren, Adam, Oscar, Lucy & John. Goretti will be very sadly missed by her husband, daughter & family, brother Harry (Southend, England), sisters Geraldine O'Connor, Deborah McCusker, Lucy Cooper, Claire Brown (All Derry) & Bridie Donaghy (Cardiff, Wales), her brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, all her family circle & many friends. John will repose at St Brigid's Funeral Home, Brideswell (N37 EK88), on Sunday evening, January 30 from 4.30pm until 6pm. (Walk through only). Deeply regretted by his brothers Bernard (Benny, Oldcastle) and Edward (Eddie, Belfast), sisters-in-law Ellen and Maureen, nephews, niece, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends. The death occurred, unexpectedly at Hillingdon Hospital, London, on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 of Francis Anthony (Tony) Carolan, formerly of Cloonmacart, Drumlish, Longford.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret. He will be sadly missed by his three children Fiona, Annette, Anthony, his grandchildren Frankie, Christopher, Kerrie, Alfie, Grace, Hannah, great grandchildren, brothers, sister, relatives and many friends. He was loved by many, May he Rest in Peace.
The funeral will be arriving at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hayes, for mass at 12 noon on Friday, February 18. Burial afterwards will be at Kensal Green Cemetery, 2pm.

Kevin Quinn, England / Newtownforbes, Longford
The death occurred, in England, on Monday, January 17, 2022 of Kevin Quinn, England and formerly of Kilnashee, Longford, and 6 Castle Gardens, Newtownforbes, Co Longford.
He is predeceased by his father Henry and brother Conny. Kevin will be forever missed by his family, wife Susan, mother Nan, brothers Michael, Sean and Henry, sisters Elizabeth, Mary and Ann, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours and friends here in Ireland and England.
