Bridget (Teresa) Doyle, Tailteann Lane, Navan, Meath / Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 of Bridget (Teresa) Doyle, Tailteann Lane, Navan, Meath and formerly of Co Longford. 

Predeceased by her husband Michael, parents Tom and Mary, brothers and sisters. Bridget will be sadly missed by her loving children Anthony, Mickey, Paddy, Mary and Tommy, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May Bridget Rest in Peace. 

Reposing at her home on Monday, April 6 from 3pm followed with removal at 5.45pm to arrive at St Mary's Church, Navan for evening prayers at 6.30pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning, April 7 at 10am (livestream). Burial afterwards in St Finian's Cemetery, Old Athboy Road, Navan.

Donie (Patrick) Sheridan, Wateraughey, Corlismore, Ballinagh, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of the doctors, nurses, and staff of Surgical 1 and the Palliative care team on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 of Donie (Patrick) Sheridan, Wateraughey, Corlismore, Ballinagh, Cavan.

Predeceased by his sister Rita Quinn and infant brother Gerard, his parents Patrick and Minnie, his niece Amy Sheridan. Beloved and devoted husband of Bridie and loving father of Raymond (Laura Pearson), Frances (Steven Smith) and Olivia (Trevor Cartwright), his adored grandchildren Paudie, Joe, Jake, Aly, Kacey and Éalla, brothers Jim and Tom, sisters Eileen Shanaghy and Mary Sheridan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives, and wide circle of friends. May He Rest In Peace. 

Reposing at Lakeland’s Funeral Home, Dublin Road Cavan (H12RF78), on Thursday, April 2 from 5pm until 7pm. Burial after 12.30pm mass in St Michael’s Church Potahee, on Sunday, April 5. House private please. Funeral will be live streamed HERE

Aidan McHugh, Murrough, Rahan, Tullamore, Offaly / Strokestown, Roscommon

The death occurred unexpectedly surrounded by his family in the care of the staff at the ICU Unit of Tullamore General Hospital on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 of Aidan McHugh, Murrough, Rahan, Tullamore, Offaly and formerly of Elphin Street, Strokestown, Co Roscommon. Retired member of An Garda Síochána.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife & best friend Marie (Grennan), daughter Karen, son Ted, brothers, Micheál, David, Dessie, Denis & Cyril, sisters Maeve & Dorothy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, former colleagues of An Garda Síochána, friends and also Aidan's many friends within the GAA.

Aidan is predeceased by his parents Denny & Lena and extended members of the McHugh & Grennan families. May Aidan Rest In Peace.

Aidan will repose at Lawless' Funeral Home, Mucklagh (R35 C5P6) on Good Friday, April 3, from 4pm until 7pm. Funeral service on Saturday, April 4, in St Colman's Church, Mucklagh (R35 V045) at 11am. Private cremation to follow.

Phyl (Philomena) Davidson (formerly Stephens) (née O'Gorman), Carrigallen, Leitrim / Finglas, Dublin

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her family and in the exceptional care of the staff at Newpark Care Centre on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 of Phyl (Philomena) Davidson (formerly Stephens) (née O'Gorman), Carrigallen, Co Leitrim and formerly of Finglas, Dublin 11. 

Beloved wife of the late Tony Stephens and Samuel Davidson and cherished and much loved mother of Derek, Adrienne, Michelle, Philip, Yvonne, Tony and the late Frank. Sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, grandchildren Samantha, Michelle, Jill, Steph, Simon, Tony, David, Amy, Keith, Bex, Katie, John, Jenny and Ryan, great-grandchildren, son-in-law Joe, daughter-in-law Claire, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Removal to the Church of St Thomas the Apostle, Laurel Lodge, Castleknock on Tuesday morning, April 7 arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in Glasnevin Cemetery. Claire Ruddy, Longford town, Co Longford / Dublin

The death occurred peacefully in the tender care of the nurses and staff of Cúram Care, Navan Road, Dublin 7 on Monday, March 30, 2026 of Claire Ruddy, Dublin and formerly of Longford town.  

Pre-deceased by her parents Michael and Catherine, sisters Agnes and Mary and by her brother Frank. Claire will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family, devoted sister Sr. Beatrice, niece, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at the Emmaus Chapel, DVI, Cabra, Dublin 7 (D07 V4KP) on Wednesday, April 1 from 2.30pm until 3.15pm, followed by Funeral Mass at 3.30pm. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live please view here

Sr Thérése O’Neill, Townparks, Ballyhaise, Co Cavan

The death occurred peacefully in Birmingham Hospital aged 80 on Saturday, March 21, 2026 of Sr Thérése (Peggy) O’Neill, 94 Selly Park Road, Selly Park, Birmingham B297LL and formerly of Townparks, Ballyhaise, Co Cavan.

Predeceased by her parents Michael and Ellen O’Neill, sister Roisin (O’Reilly, Golf Links Road, Cavan), brother Paddy (Dublin), nephews Michael and Brian. Deeply regretted by sisters Eileen (McGovern, Legaginny, Ballinagh), Mary (Rafter, Newtownforbes), brother Michael (Ballyhaise), sisters-in-law Bridie (O’Neill, Ballyhaise), Teresa (O’Neill, Dublin), nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, friends and Sisters of The Charity of St. Paul, Selly Park Birmingham. A Memorial Mass for Sr Thérése (Peggy) will be held in St Mary’s Church, Ballyhaise, Co Cavan on Sunday, April 12 at 10.30am.

Paul Hughes, Longford town, Co Longford

The death occurred  peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2026 of Paul Hughes, Toronto, Canada and formerly of Dublin Street and Brickeens, Longford. 

Pre-deceased by his father Mike, mother Mollie and by his brothers-in-law John Mike McCarthy, Frank Seyers and Séamus Tiernan.

Paul will be missed and forever remembered by his wife Peg, sons David, sister Mary Tiernan (Longford), daughter-in-law Becca, nephews Damian, nieces Gillian, Carmel and Laura, grand nephews, grand nieces, cousins and many friends both in Longford and Toronto. May the road rise up to meet you May the wind always be at your back

May the sun shine warm upon your face And rains fall softly upon your fields And until we meet again May the Good Lord hold you in the Hollow of his hand. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

A Mass in memory of Paul will take place in St. Mel’s Cathedral at a later date.

Noel (Michael) McKiernan, Owen Roe Terrace, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 of Noel (Michael) McKiernan, Rugeley Staffordshire UK and formerly of Owen Roe Terrace, Cavan.

Predeceased by his wife Margaret, infant daughter Marie, parents James and Maisie and brothers Jim (Australia) and Mattie (UK). 

Noel is survived by his sons Martin (Carolyn) and son William, Colin (Michelle) and sons Gary and Terry, all UK.

Sisters Rosaleen Callaghan (Newport, Co. Mayo), Maura Walsh (Granard, Co. Longford), Dympna Molloy, (Swellan Cavan), Una Graham (Glenlara Cavan) and Seán (Drumcrave, Cavan). Sisters-in-law Jean McKiernan (Australia) Jackie Mc Kiernan (Australia) and Mary Mc Kiernan (UK), his adored nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Noel's Requiem Mass will be on Thursday,  April 9 in St. Joseph's Church, Rugeley, Staffordshire WS15 2EH followed by cremation at Stafford Crematorium ST16 3AQ. "Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam".
