The death occurred peacefully in Mullingar Regional Hospital surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 of Martin Whitton, Farneyhoogan, Athlone Rd, Longford and formerly of Clonevit, Moydow. Predeceased by his parents Andy and Nora, brothers Thomas, Paul and Noel (infant).

Martin will be sadly missed and always remembered by his loving family, his partner Ann, sons Patrick and Andrew, their mother Bridgie, daughter-in-law Emma, Alice (Andrew's partner), his adored grandchildren Kyle, Aidan, Sarah and Finn, brother Jimmy, sister Margaret (Newtowncashel), brother-in-law Paddy Conlon, sister-in-law Connie, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and dear friends.

A daily thought, a silent tear, A constant wish that you were here. Rest in Peace Martin.

Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford, N39KN66 on Thursday, February 26 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8.15pm. A Celaberation Service of Martin's life will take place in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Rd, Cavan on Friday, February 27at 2pm. Patrick (Patsy) Clarke, Garrowhill, Longford

The death occurred suddenly at the Regional Hospital Mullingar comforted by his family on Monday, February 23, 2026 of Patrick (Patsy) Clarke, Garrowhill, Longford, former staff member of St Loman's Hospital, Mullingar.  

Predeceased by his daughter Sinéad. Sadly missed by his loving wife Breda (Brid), sons Gerard and John, daughter-in-law Louise, grandchildren Jack and Beth, sister Mary, brother James Mel, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, and friends. Rest In Peace.

Patsy will repose at Kelly's Funeral Home (Shepherd's), Athlone Road, N39 K381 on Thursday, February 26 from 5pm. to 7pm. Funeral Mass is on Friday, February 27 at 12 noon in St Mary's Church, Newtownforbes. Following Mass, Patsy will be laid to rest in the local cemetery. Family flowers only, please.

Margaret Irene Leahy, Ardmore, Athy, Kildare / Longford town, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of Thomond Lodge Nursing Home, Ballymahon, Co Longford with her daughters by her side on Monday, February 23, 2026 of Margaret Irene Leahy, Ardmore, Athy, Kildare/ Longford town.

Pre-deceased by her husband Thomas (Tom). Margaret will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her son Thomas, daughters Sharon and Joy, daughter-in-law Desiree, son-in-law Matt, grandchildren Sarah, Thomas, Adam, Joanna and Joshua, wider family circle and her friends.

Reposing at Glennons Funeral Home, Longford (N39EC81) on Wednesday evening, February 25 at 5pm until 7pm. Funeral Service in Brannockstown Baptist Church, Kilcullen, Co. Kildare (Eircode W91K004) on Thursday, February 26 at 2pm followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. "Safe in the arms of Jesus".

Rose Gettings (née Harten), Ardagullion, Granard, Longford / Ballinagh, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully at Our Lady's Manor Edgeworthstown surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 21, 2026 of Rose Gettings (née Harten), Ardagullion, Granard, Longford and formerly of Knockanore, Ballinagh, Co Cavan.

Pre-deceased by her brothers Tim, Donald and Seamus, her sister Liz, grandchildren Daniel, Katie and Mary. Beloved wife of Michael and devoted mother to her cherished children Andrew, Patricia, Geraldine, Michelle, Caroline and Micheál.

Rose will be deeply missed and forever loved by her heartbroken family, sons-in-law Enda, Noel, David and John, daughters-in-law Sharon and Fiona, her adored grandchildren Claire, David, Edel, Shane, Sean, Sarah, Eleanor, Riain, Keeva, Emily, Maria, Luke, Michael and Evelyn, brother Ollie sisters Kitty and Patsy, extended family, neighbours and her many good friends. Reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home Barrack Street. Granard (N39AX97) on Tuesday, February 24 from 5pm to 7pm followed by removal to St Mary’s Church Granard arriving at 8pm.

Maisie (Mary) Marshall (née Farrell), Brosna View, Ballinagore, Westmeath / Abbeyshrule, Longford

The death  occurred peacefully with her loving family by her side and in the tender care of the staff at the Inny Unit, Cluain Lir Care Centre, Mullingar on Monday, February 23, 2026 of Maisie (Mary) Marshall (Née Farrell) Brosna View, Ballinagore, Co Westmeath and formerly of Abbeyshrule, Co Longford.

Reunited with her beloved husband Tony. Maisie will be very sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Margaret, Thomas and Audrey, her adored grandchildren Luke, Kate, Leo, Rory, Ysabella and Anthony, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, brother Bill, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.Remembering also the deceased members of the Farrell and Marshall families. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Rev Fr Gerard McNulty, USA and late of Battery Road, Longford Town, Longford / Dublin

The death occurred peacefully at Nazareth House, San Diego, in the kind and loving care of loyal friends and attentive nursing staff on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 of Rev Fr Gerard McNulty, USA and late of Battery Road, Longford Town, Longford / Dublin. 

Predeceased by his brother, Dr Cyril, and his parents, Paddy and Lily McNulty. Sadly missed by his brothers Michael, Aidan and David; his sisters-in-law Mary, Peggy, Theresa and Martina; and all his nieces and nephews.

Fr Gerry attended All Hallows College, Dublin, and was ordained for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, CA, in 1967. He was a Major in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and a much-loved Chaplain in the Department of Veterans Affairs. He was a dearly beloved member of his family and will be very much missed by all his colleagues and friends, both in Ireland and the USA. May he Rest In Peace. 

His remains will repose at the home of his brother, Michael, 20 Sandymount Avenue, Dublin, D04 VP11, on Wednesday,  February 25 from 4pm, concluding with prayers at 8pm. Removal to St Mel’s Cathedral, Longford, on Thursday morning, February 26 for Requiem Mass at 11am, followed by interment in Ballymacormack Cemetery, Longford. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to the Society of St Vincent de Paul, care of any family member or Kelly’s Funeral Directors, Longford.

Noellé Crowe (née Dorran), ‘Sherwood’, Dromod, Leitrim

The death occurred at The Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 of Noelle Crowe (nee Dorran), ‘Sherwood’, Dromod, Co Leitrim, retired NT. 

Predeceased by her husband Jim, brothers Ronnie and Mercdith, sisters Renee and Hope. Sadly missed by her children Derek, Gary and Louise Shanley, sister Joy Stephens (Belfast), son in law John, daughter in law Holly, grandchildren Sorrelle, Beryl, James, Hazel, Sophie and Noah, sisters in law Marcella and Dorothy, brother in law John, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends. “At Rest”.

Noelle will repose at her home ‘Sherwood’, Dromod on Friday, February 27 from 4pm until 8pm with a 15-minute break at 6pm. Funeral service on Saturday, February 28 at 2.30pm in St Ann’s Church, Annaduff (N41 C956), followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard. “Safe in the arms of Jesus”.

Imelda Donnelly (née Lloyd), Shannagh Grove, Mohill, Leitrim / Boyle, Roscommon

The death occurred in the loving care of the amazing management and staff at Arus Carolan Mohill on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 of Imelda Donnelly (nee Lloyd), Shannagh Grove, Mohill and previously Boyle, Co Roscommon. Predeceased by her husband Tommy.

Deeply regretted by her loving son Lloyd, daughter Valerie (John) and Adrienne. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Alan (Kate) David , Erica (Tom) Ruth, Hannah (Andrew) Gareth (Kaitlyn) Keara (Eoin) Danny (Betsy) & Gavin. Cherished sister to Sean (Monica) Lloyd, Boyle and Eileen Damerill – Manchester Geraldine Lloyd (USA) Liam Lloyd (Switzerland) Irene Drury (Sligo) James Lloyd (Boyle) Guy Lloyd (London). The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General Hospital following a short illness surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 of Ann Brigid Murphy (nee Luby) Corraneary, Arva, Co. Cavan, and formerly London, England and Rockfield, Killeshandra. 

Pre-deceased by her husband John, parents Patrick and Anna, sisters Nuala, Josie, Kate and Margaret and brothers Patrick and Michael. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her heartbroken sons Simon, Peter, and Thomas, her daughter-in-law Marie, adored grandchildren Sophie and Isabelle, sisters Eilish and Maureen (England), brothers Brendan (Ballinalee, Longford), and Tom (Rockfield, Killeshandra), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends. May She Rest in Peace.

Ann will be reposing at Lawlor’s Funeral Home, Ernehill, Belturbet (H14 R583) this Thursday evening, February 26 from 6pm until prayers at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Friday morning, February 27 at 11am in The Sacred Heart Church, Arva, followed by burial in Coronea cemetery. The death occurred unexpectedly at Mullingar General Hospital on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 of Timothy (Timmy) Beirne, Grange, Strokestown, Roscommon.

Beloved husband of Connie and adored father of Maisie. Timmy will be sadly missed by his loving wife & daughter, brothers Gerry & Mark, sister Sunniva (Tiernan), nieces, nephews, aunt Shiela, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Timmy is predeceased by his parent's Timmy & Rose and by his sister-in-law Alice. Rest In Peace.

The death occurred suddenly at Sligo University Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 21, 2026 of Bernadette (Bernie) O’Dowd (Née McWeeney) Meera, Boyle Road, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Roscommon.

Pre-deceased by her parents Anne Marie and Hugh, sister Marie, and brothers Josie and Hugh. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her heartbroken family.

Helen Tilson (née Acheson), Freeduff, Kilcogy, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of her family and the staff of Sheelin nursing Home in her 100th year on Friday, February 20, 2026 of Helen Tilson (née Acheson), Freeduff, Kilcogy, Cavan. 

Predeceased by her husband Kenneth. Helen will be very sadly missed by her sons Clive and Keith, daughters-in-law Tona and Jane, grandson Harry, nephew David Acheson and family, niece Sharon Wright Jones and family, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

The death occurred peacefully on the eve of his 93rd birthday in the exceptional and loving care of the nurses and staff of Castlemanor Private Nursing Home, Cavan and surrounded by his devoted family on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 of Laurence (Larry) Donoghue, Carricknabrick, Loughduff, Co Cavan and late of Ballymacad, Oldcastle, Co Meath. 

Predeceased by his beloved wife Nancy (née O'Reilly) his parents Patrick and Mary, his brother Michael and sister Judy. The death occurred peacefully in the Mater Hospital surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 22, 2026 of Seamus Shiels, Glasnevin, Dublin and formerly Loch Gowna, Cavan.

The death occurred peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family after a long illness bravely borne on Sunday, February 22, 2026 of Eithne Healy (née Flood), Hounslow House, Fore, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath.

Predeceased by her infant siblings Ruadhrí and Roselle. Dearly beloved wife of Anthony and devoted mother of Deirdre, Gráinne, Ronan and Nollaig.
