The death occurred peacefully at Mullingar Regional Hospital on Thursday, January 8, 2026 of Joe Blake, Tonywarden, Granard, Co Longford.

Pre-deceased by his parents Pat and Enda. Beloved husband of Kathleen and much loved father of Teresa, Padraig and Edna. Joe will be sadly missed and always remembered by his loving wife and family, his sisters Sr Teresita, Josie, Mai and Kathleen, brother Matty, his adored grandsons James and Cathal, daughter-in-law Anne-Marie, son-in-law Shay, sisters-in-law Hannah and Mary, brothers-in-law Ted, Denis, Barney and Pat, nieces, nephews, relatives, many good friends and dear neighbours. Mary Hannifin (née O'Leary), No 1 St Matthew’s Park, Ballymahon, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family in Mullingar Regional Hospital on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 of Mary Hannifin (nee O'Leary), No 1 St Matthew’s Park, Ballymahon, Co Longford.

Predeceased by her husband Johnny, sons Willie, Mike and Robert, daughter Aggie and her dear grandchildren. Mary will be sadly missed by her family, sons Joe, Johnny, Paul, Brendan and Aaron, daughters Maire and Jackie, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother Jimmy, sisters Bridie, Joan, Ann, Teresa and Winnie, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and her dear friends. Reposing in her home on Thursday, January 8 from 4pm until 7pm. Removal to St Matthews's Church, Ballymahon on Friday, January 9 for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Following Mass, Mary will be laid to rest in the family plot in Shrule Cemetery. The death occurred peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 of Annie Thompson (née Dunne), Auaghaboy, Killoe, Longford and formerly Ballaghderry, Mountbolus, Co Offaly. 

Predeceased by her husband Johnny, her parents John and Kathleen Dunne, sisters Lil Leonard (Blueball) and Sr. Magdalene Mary Dunne (USA), her brother-in-law Joe Leonard (Blueball). Sadly missed by her brother Tom, sister Kathleen Scully (Blueball), brother-in-law Paddy Scully, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends. May She Rest in Peace.

The death occurred peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025 of Francis (Frank) McKeon, Chadwell Heath, Essex, late of Forest Gate, London and Manchester and formerly Aughnacliffe, Co Longford.

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of St Joseph’s Care Centre on Friday, January 2, 2026 of MaryJo McDonnell, Castlebrock, Moatefarrell, Co Longford. 

Pre-deceased by her extended family. Maryjo will be sadly missed and remembered with love by Richard, Martin, Gregg, Brendan, Ann, Gerard and Paul, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

The death occurred peacefully on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 of Very Rev Fr Phil Brady, Creighan, Cavan Town and late of Legwee Bridge, Bruskey, Cavan. Late Priest of the Diocese of Kilmore.

Predeceased by her husband Patsy. Dearly loved mother of Gary, Suzanne and Therese. Sadly missed by her loving daughter in law Monica, sons in law Micheál and Steven, her cherished grandchildren Eilish (and her husband Declan), Sarah, Paddy and Luke, great granddaughter Cliona, brothers in law, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Marion Gillooly (née Toolan), 2 Chapel Street, Elphin, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully, with her family by her side, in the wonderful care of the staff at Drumderrig Nursing Home, Boyle on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 of Marion Gillooly (née Toolan), 2 Chapel Street, Elphin, Co Roscommon. June 19, 1940 – January 6, 2026.

Much loved mother of Michael (Roscommon Town), Lorraine Kenny (Moore, Co. Roscommon), Fiona Henry (Ballinvalley, Coolaney, Co. Sligo) and Peter (Turloughmore). Marion will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family, sons-in-law Liam and Michéal, daughters-in-law Marie and Anita, cherished grandchildren Emma, Adrian, Declan, Peter, Saoirse, Michael, Adam, Callum, Aoife, Evan, Kayla, Kai and Amber, brother-in-law Pete Shiel (Carniska, Strokestown), nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and her many friends.

The death occurred peacefully, at the Mater Hospital and previously in the care of Anam Cara, Glasnevin in her 93rd year on Saturday, January 3, 2026 of June (Margaret) Elliott (née McNamara), Glasnevin, Dublin and formerly of Ballyleague, Lanesboro, Co Roscommon and Nenagh, Co Tipperary. 

Beloved wife of the late Frank. Sadly missed by her stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sister Frances, nieces, nephews, extended family, a wide circle of friends and former colleagues in Telecom Eireann. Predeceased by her brothers Morgan and George and her sister Sr. Clare. May she rest in peace.

He will be sadly missed by his nieces & nephews, Ursula, Andrew, Adrian & Sandra, grandnephews & grandnieces, Jack, Caoimhe, Caolan, Fionn & Donnacha, sister-in-law Patsy, relatives, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by her parents Pat Joe and Catherine. Olive is lovingly missed by her sister Mary (Mick), brothers PJ (Colette) and Kevin, also by her niece Emma and nephews Kevin, Jamie and Mark. May Olive Rest In Peace.

Loving son of Bridie and the late Charlie, brother of Cathriona (Ciaran), Fiona (Stephen), Breda, Katie, Matt (Sarah), Cathal (Lorraine) and Thomas (Shauna).
