The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and in the care of the nurses and staff at Our Lady's Manor Nursing Home, Edgeworthstown on Monday, September 15, 2025 of Larry (L.J.) McDonnell, Mornine, Moydow, Co Longford N39 P261.
Predeceased by his parents Jack and Molly, his brother Peter and his son P.J. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Brigid, his sons Paul, Barry and Mark and his daughter Edel, his grandsons Jack, Shane, Dara, Killian, Rian, Ronan, Elliot, Paidi and Ogie, his brother John, nieces Lorraine and Catherine, cousins Martin and Peter, son-in-law Jose, daughters-in-law Julie, Aodhnait and Lisa, sisters-in-law Mairead and Lilly, brother-in-law Packie, neighbours, relatives and friends. Reposing at his home in Mornine on Wednesday, September 17 from 4pm until 8pm. Removal on Thursday, September 18 to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Carrickedmond, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Dr Christopher Mascott Vence, France & Blackrock, Dublin, Longford

The death occurred suddenly, as the result of a tragic accident at his home in France on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 of Dr Christopher Mascott, Blackrock, Dublin & Vence, France. Predeceased by his parents Marshall and Katherine. Chris was deeply loved by his dearest wife Eugenie (nee Donnelly), his adoring children Patrick, Gavin and Keava. Chris will be deeply missed by the extended Mascott family (U.S.A.) and the Donnelly family (Newtownforbes), his friends, neighbours, and colleagues.
A funeral service will be held for Chris on Thursday, September 18 at 4pm, at Crématorium de la Métropole, Nice Côte d'Azur, 06670 Colomars, France. A memorial service will be held in Dublin at a later date.

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the unexpected passing on Thursday, September 11, 2025 of Professor Conor Anthony Gearty Kentish Town, London; formerly of Abbeylara, County Longford.
A distinguished human rights lawyer and proud Longford man, Conor was a fantastic husband, an adored dad, a wonderful brother and son, and a warm generous friend to many. He will be deeply missed by his wife Aoife, his children Eliza, Owen, Èile and Fiadh, his mother Margot, his brother Frank, his sisters Rhona, Catherine, Margaret and Sarah, their partners and children, his in-laws, and his wide circle of friends, neighbours and colleagues. He is predeceased by his late wife Diane and his father Enda.
