Desmond O’Kelly, Drumloona, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim, H12TW30

The death occurred following a traffic accident on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 of Desmond Eugene (Dessie) O'Kelly, Drumloona, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim.

Loving son of Gene and Teresa, brother to Clara (Liam) and girlfriend Chloe. Dessie will be sadly missed by his grandmother Moira O'Rourke, aunts, uncles, cousins, grand-uncle, grand-aunts and his many friends. May Dessie's gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Dessie will repose at his home (H12TW30) on Good Friday, April 18 from 4pm to 8pm and on Easter Saturday, April 19 from 5pm to 8pm. One way system in operation. Entrance via Newtowngore, Carrigallen Road. House private at all other times. Funeral mass will take place in St. Mary's Church, Drumeela (H12HP63) on Easter Sunday, April 20 at 2pm, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Donal Trautt, Clareview Park, Ballybane, Galway / Ardagh, Longford

The  death occurred peacefully in the early hours of Wednesday, April 16, 2025 with his loving family by his side of Donal Trautt, Clareview Park, Ballybane, Galway / Ardagh, Longford. Predeceased by his parents Mary and Paddy, sister Elizabeth (Baby) Halligan, brothers Sonny and Paddy Mel.

Deeply mourned by his wife Breda, daughter Leona and son Alan, son-in-law Kevin Corcoran, cherished grandchildren Chloe and Jamie, sister Kathleen Ward and brother Jimmy (Ballymahon), brothers-in-law Gerard and John Carey and Frank Ward, sisters-in-law Margaret and Lily, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. 'Let the music play on'. May your kind and gentle soul rest in peace. 

Funeral Arrangements: Good Friday, April 18, 2025 - Donal will repose at his daughter Leona’s home, Ballyloughne Beach (H91R2FP) from 5 to 7pm. Saturday, April 19, 2025 - Removal from Leona's home to Shannon Crematorium at 12 noon to arrive for a Committal Service at 2pm. You are welcome to attend.

Michael Keogh, Naas, Kildare / Dring, Longford

The death  occurred peacefully at Naas Hospital in the loving arms of his family after a short illness borne with tremendous dignity and courage on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 of Michael Keogh, Roselawn, Naas and formerly Culleenmore, Co Longford.

Pre-deceased by his father Michael and mother Rose. Michael is deeply missed by his heartbroken wife Marion, daughters Maria and Sinéad, son Rob and his partner Megan, sister Mary, brothers James, Pat, Kevin, John and Peter, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, neighbours, the Conway Family and his great friends in Athgarvan Grain.

Reposing at his residence on Friday, April 18 from 3pm with prayers at 7pm. Removal on Saturday morning, April 19 at 9am to arrive at The Church of Our Lady and St David, Naas for funeral service at 9.30am followed by burial at St. Corban's Cemetery, Naas.

Charlotte (Lottie) Small (née Campbell), Coolarty, Longford

The recent death has occurred peacefully in the loving care of the staff at Oak Wood Nursing Home, Roscommon on Saturday, April 12, 2025 of Charlotte (Lottie) Small (nee Campbell), Coolarty, Longford.

Predeceased by her parents Robert and Kitty, her loving husband Joseph and her brother Charlie. Deeply regretted by her sons Fred, John, Alec and David, daughter Sarah, her grandchildren, brothers David and Sandy, sisters-in-law, cousins, relatives and friends. May her gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Our Lady's Manor, Edgeworthstown on Wednesday, April 16 from 5pm until 8pm. Funeral Service in St. Patrick's Church, Granard on Thursday, April 17 at 2pm. Burial afterwards in adjoining Churchyard. House private please.

Marguerite Staunton (née Murphy), Silverlawn, Navan, Meath / Longford town, Co Longford

The death occurred on Monday, April 14, 2025 of Marguerite Staunton (nee Murphy), Silverlawn, Navan, Co. Meath and formerly Ballymahon Street, Longford town. Retired school teacher of Beaufort College and Dunshaughlin Community College. 

Predeceased by her husband Liam, parents Frank and Margaret, sisters Celia and Johanna, brothers Frankie and Eugene. Peacefully after a long illness at Carechoice Trim. She will be sadly missed by her sons Emmet and David, daughter Joanne, grandchildren Emmet, Alanna, Éanín, Katie, Isabelle, Aoden and Maeve, brothers in law Tommy (Donlon), Tom and Gerard, sister in law Jean (MacGearailt), nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May Marguerite Rest In Peace.

Reposing at James Fox’s Funeral Home, Abbeylands, Navan C15PH6T, on Easter Sunday, April 20 from 4pm until 7pm. Arriving to St. Mary’s Church, Navan on Easter Monday, April 21 for 10am Funeral Mass, which can be viewed live on http://navanparish.ie/livestream . Burial afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery, Co. Longford,(arriving 12.45pm approx).

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff in Carechoice, Trim who cared for Marguerite with dignity and compassion during her time there. 

Seamus Keogh, Slattamore, Rooskey, Roscommon / Ballyguilemore, Wicklow

The death occurred peacefully at Drumderrig House Nursing Home on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 of Seamus Keogh Slattamore, Rooskey, Roscommon, formerly St Laurances Road / Ballyguile, Wicklow Town.

Predeceased by his wife Rosaleen. Sadly missed by his loving brothers Liam, Joe, Jerry, Sean (predeceased), sisters Elizabeth, Catherine, Josephine, Margaret and May (predeceased), nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Drumderrig House Nursing Home who cared for Seamus for the last few years.

Joanne Devine (née Goldrick), Castlepollard, Co Westmeath / Palmerstown, Dublin

The death occurred unexpectedly at her home, following a short illness on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 of Joanne Devine (née Goldrick) Castlepollard, Co Westmeath and formerly of Palmerstown, Co Dublin.

Joanne was predeceased by loving aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends, whom she cherished. Beloved mother of her daughters Lauren and Caitlin, Joanne will be dearly missed by her parents Jean and Gerry (Goldrick), brother Gerard, loving ex-husband Noel, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, her wonderful neighbours and friends, and all who knew her kind, bubbly, good-hearted soul. May Joanne Rest In Peace.

Marie Costello, Greaghrevamore, Aughnasheelin, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 of Marie Costello, Greaghrevamore, Aughnasheelin, Leitrim. 

Predeceased by her father Tom and her mother Margaret. Deeply regretted by her heartbroken son Osman (Ossie) daughter-in-law Orla, adored grandchildren Nicole, Katie and Thomas, her sister Betty, brother Tommy, nieces Sharon, Michelle and Catherine, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends. Reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home, High Street, Ballinamore N41TD62 on Wednesday, April 16 from 6pm to 8pm. Removal from her home on Holy Thursday morning, April 17 to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Aughnasheelin for Funeral Mass at 11 am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Shay (James) Hession, Dromod, Leitrim, N41 CX64 / Dublin

The recent death has occurred peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 of Shay (James) Hession, Ard na Cuain, Dromod, Co. Leitrim and formerly Dublin.

Predeceased by his brothers Brendan and Frank, sister Pat Seery. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family. Devoted wife Ann, son Damian, daughters Kate and Sarah, daughter-in-law Angela, sons-in-law Alan Makin and Damian Sharkey. Adored grandchildren Grace, Lucy, Sam, Alex, Jack, Conor, Penny and Rory, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May He Rest In Peace.

Reposing at his residence Ard na Cuain, Dromod (N41 CX64) on Thursday, April 17 from 6pm until 8pm. Shay’s Cremation service will take place in Mount Jerome Crematorium, Dublin on Friday, April 18 at 4pm.

Anne Mulvey (née Martin) Galway / Roscommon town, Co Roscommon

The death occurred suddenly at home on Sunday, April 13, 2025 of Anne Mulvey (nee Martin) Galway/ Roscommon town.

Predeceased by her parents Louie and Seamus. Forever loved and very sadly missed by her heartbroken family; daughters Claire and Jean and their father Gerry, Claire's partner Mark, grandchildren Jason, Ria and Callum, brother Liam (Strokestown) and sister Amy Talbot (Athenry), sister-in-law Josie, brother-in-law Gerry, nieces, Aisling, Niamh, Louise, Linda, Ruth and Rhona and nephew Cian. Anne will be sadly missed also by her cousins and the Mulvey family, her wide circle of friends including work colleagues and her friends in the folk group in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Westside.

Funeral Arrangements: Easter Sunday, April 20 Anne will repose in 'St. Pio's Room' within the Church of the Sacred Heart, Seamus Quirke Road from 5 p.m. with removal into the Church at 6.30 p.m. Monday, April 21: Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Anne at 11 a.m. and following Mass she will be laid to rest in St Coman’s Cemetery, Roscommon. Live Streaming link for Mass: Here

          Brendan Dunne, Gardanne, France / formerly of Ballyleague, Lanesboro, Roscommon

          The death occurred peacefully following an illness borne with great courage on Saturday, March 15, 2025 of Brendan Dunne, Gardanne, France and formerly of Ballyleague, Lanesboro, Co Roscommon. 

          Beloved husband to Marion (McDevitt) and devoted father to Emma & Matthieu. Cherished son of Noreen and the late Denis. Loving brother to Siobhán, Gráinne, Gary, Niamh & Fiona. Brendan will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and a wide circle of friends and neighbours.

          Funeral in France with commemoration service at a later date in Ireland.
