Michael (Mike) Skelly, Glebe, Colehill, Longford

The death occurred peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff of Level 4 of The Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, surrounded by his loving daughters and granddaughter, in his 74th year on Friday, December 20, 2024 of Michael (Mike) Skelly, Glebe, Colehill, Longford. 

Predeceased by his parents John and Bridget Skelly, his sister Mary Dolan and wife, Anne Collins Skelly. Sadly missed by his beloved daughters Natasha and Sharon, grandchildren Gemma, Rania and Khaled, brother Liam, his daughter’s mother Marie, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and wide circle of friends. May His Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Mike will repose at his residence, Glebe, Colehill, Co Longford (N39 HH92) on Sunday, December 22 from 2pm to 5:30pm, Removal then to The Church Of The Sacred Heart, Carrickedmond arriving at 6pm. Funeral mass on Monday, December 23 at 12 noon, followed by burial in Carrickedmond Cemetery next to his parents. Family flowers only please. No donations please, instead have a pint in Mike's memory.

Mary Farrell, 63 Farneyhoogan, Athlone Road, Longford

The death occurred peacefully, at the Regional Hospital, Mullingar on Friday, December 20, 2024 of Mary Farrell, 63 Farneyhoogan, Athlone Road, Longford and late of Moyrath, Ardagh. Predeceased by her parents Ellen and Thomas, her sisters Maggie, Ann, Kathleen and Bridie, her brothers Brendan, Ned, Gerard and Tom. Sadly missed by her loving husband Ned, her sister Evelyn O'Neill and her brothers Mike and John, her nieces Jane, Patricia, Phil, Elizabeth, Breda, Sandra and Caroline, her nephews Brendan, Ned and Gerard, sisters-in-law Betty Garrahy and Anna Murphy and all her extended family. Rest in peace.

Reposing in Our Lady's Manor Nursing Home Chapel, Edgeworthstown, on Sunday, December 22 from 4pm with prayers at 6pm. Removal on Monday, December 23 to St Brigid's Church, Ardagh, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. Funeral Mass may be viewed here.

Mary Casey (née Breheny), Ballymulvey, Ballymahon, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in Mullingar Regional Hospital in her 90th year on Friday, December 20, 2024 of Mary Casey (née Breheny), Ballymulvey, Ballymahon, Longford. Predeceased by her husband Michael.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sons and daughters Mary, Pat, Catherine and John, their partners John, Valarie and Brian, her grandchildren Sean, Megan, Shane, and Cian and their partners, her great grandchildren Tomas and Aoife, her brothers Patrick, Sean and Michael and their partners, nieces, nephews, relatives friends and neighbours. Rest in Peace.

Mary will be reposing at her residence in Ballymulvey on Sunday evening, December 22 from 5pm until 8pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, December 23 at 12 noon in St Matthew's Church Ballymahon followed by burial in Forgney cemetery.

James G. Sweeney, 'Roxboro', Battery Road, Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in his 94th year in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home on Saturday, December 21, 2024 of James G. Sweeney (M.V.B MRCVS), 'Roxboro', Battery Road, Longford Town, Longford and formerly of Ballyhoolivan, Moatefarrell. Predeceased by his parents James and Maud and by his beloved wife Thérèse.

James will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, daughters Mary and Catherine, sons James and Nick, daughters-in-law Linda and Ursula, son-in-law Peter, sister-in-law Sr Mary, grandchildren Sophie, Isabelle, Rebecca, Doyle, Sarah, Katie, Tom and Jamie, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Sunday, December 22 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Catherine Brady, Newtownbond, Killoe, Longford

The death occurred in Our Lady’s Manor Nursing Home, Edgeworthstown, following an illness bravely borne on Saturday, December 21, 2024 of Catherine Brady, Newtownbond, Killoe, Longford. Predeceased by her parents, James and Mary, her partner Pat Fallon and her sister Mary Farrell, Catherine will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her sister Eileen McManus, her brothers-in-law Sean McManus (Arva) and Pat Farrell (Ardagh), her nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, the extended Brady and Fallon families and many dear neighbours and friends. May She Rest in Peace.

Catherine will repose in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford N39 KN66 on Sunday, December 22 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7.30pm.

James (Jimmy) Mills, Clondalkin, Dublin / Abbeyshrule, Longford

The death occurred peacefully, at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, December 19, 2024 of James (Jimmy) Mills Clondalkin and late of Abbeyshrule, Co Longford.

Beloved husband of Florence and much loved father of Lorna and Gordon also remembering his late parents Eddie and May and his late brother Bertie; Jimmy will be very dearly missed by his loving wife, children, daughter-in-law Linda, son-in-law John, grandchildren Morgan, Bláthnaid and Henry, sister-in-law Audrey, brother-in-law Ronald, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. A Celebration of Jimmy’s life will take place on Saturday December 28 at 2:30pm in The Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Cemetery followed by Cremation. Rosaleen O'Toole (née Whelan), Drimnagh, Dublin / Mostrim, Longford

The death occurred peacefully, with Lorna and Jemma by her side in the kind care of the staff of St James’ Hospital on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 of Rosaleen O'Toole (née Whelan), late of Drimnagh, Dublin12 and formerly Monadarragh, Mostrim, Co. Longford. 

Beloved wife of the late Hughie and predeceased by her sister Phyllis (Caffrey) and brothers Maurice and Seamus. Rosaleen will be very sadly missed by her brother Patrick, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.

Nicola Murphy (née Brennan), Scramogue, Roscommon / Ahascragh, Galway

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the kind and wonderful care of the staff of Roscommon Hospice on Friday, December 20, 2024 of Nicola Murphy (née Brennan), Gortlustia, Scramogue, Co Roscommon and formerly Ahascragh.  Nicola will be forever loved and sadly missed by her husband Joe, sons Conor and Óisin, parents Anne and Sean, sisters Valerie and Louise, dearest friend Linda (Fallon), mother-in-law Margaret, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, sisters in law, brothers in law, work colleagues at Veolia, relatives and many friends. May her Beautiful Kind Soul Rest in Paradise.

Reposing at her Residence (F42 PX07) on Saturday and Sunday, December 21 and 22, from 4pm to 8pm (With a break from 6pm to 6.15pm) (A one way system will operate with entry via L6162 both days) House strictly private outside of those times please.

Marian Quinlan (née Kenny), Rooskey, Roscommon / Blanchardstown, Dublin

The death occurred peacefully, with her family by her side at North West Hospice, after a short illness on Friday, December 20, 2024 of Marian Quinlan (née Kenny), late of Rooskey and formerly of BlanchardstownPredeceased by her parents Dan and Noreen. Marian will be missed by her husband Ronan, her children Brian, Eoin and Clare, her grandchildren Cian, Ben, Tommy and Keavy, daughter-in-law Jen, sons-in-law Gerd and David, her sister Rena, brothers Domhnall and Aidan and a wide circle of family and friends.

Reposing at Leavy's Funeral Home, Scramogue (F42 FD78), from 5pm to 7pm on Sunday, December. 22 Funeral Mass will take place in the Church of our Lady of Mount Carmel, Rooskey at 11am, Monday, December 23, followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 1.30pm. Lynette Dooner, Lahard, Ballinamore, Leitrim / Connemara, Galway

The death occurred peacefully, in Beaumont Hospital ICU, surrounded by her loving partner, son, brother, mother and close family on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 of Lynette Dooner, Lahard, Ballinamore, Leitrim/ Connemara, Galway.

Lynette will be sadly missed and remembered with immense love by her partner Michael, son Killian, brother Alan, mother Bernie, niece & godchild Chloe, nephew Keith and sister-in-law Diane, along with her extended family, friends and neighbours. May Lynette Rest In Peace.

Phil Quinn (née Connolly), Rathbawn Road, Castlebar, Mayo / Newport, Mayo / Tyrrellspass, Westmeath

The death occurred peacefully in the dedicated care of the staff in the ‘Ross Suite’, Sacred Heart Hospital, Castlebar, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 20, 2024 of Phil Quinn (nee Connolly), Rathbawn Road, Castlebar and late of Newport, Co Mayo and Tyrrellspass, Co. Westmeath.

Predeceased by her parents, brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted by her heartbroken husband Noel, daughters Connin (Lydon, Ballinrobe) and Karen (Glasson, Westmeath), sons Edwin (Castlebar) and Nigel (Castlebar), sons-in-law Pat and Philip, daughters-in-law Caroline and Claire, grandchildren Saoirse, Ciara, Aoife, Clodagh, Derval and Tom, sister-in-law Bridie Quinn (Castlebar), niece Anne (Westmeath) and nephew Liam (Westmeath), relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.

Phil will repose at Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlebar, F23 XY63 on Sunday, December 22 from 5.30pm – 7pm. Removal from Coady’s Funeral Home on Monday, December 23 at 10.30 am for Requiem Mass at 11am in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.     Felix Harten, Carnagh Upper, Kilcogy, Cavan

    The death occurred peacefully at his home in the loving care of his family on Sunday, December 15, 2024 of Felix Harten, Birmingham, England and formerly Carnagh Upper, Kilcogy, Co Cavan. Predeceased by his parents Felix and Rose his beloved son Colin sisters Kathleen and Eithne and brother Benny.

    Sadly missed by his loving wife Elizabeth sons Phelim (Linda) Thomas (Nicola) Dermot (Franchesca) daughter Mary (Andrew) grandchildren Freddy, Felix and Lizabella, brothers Paddy (Carnagh), James (Navan), sisters and brothers in law, nephews, nieces relatives and a large circle of friends. May he rest in peace.

    Sean Kelleher, Mullinadara, Carrigallen, Leitrim

    The death occurred unexpectedly on Friday, December 13, 2024 of Sean Kelleher, Nottingham, London and formerly of Mullinadara, Carrigallen, Leitrim. 

    Sean will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family, his partner Bushra, brother Gerry, sisters Maura (Nicholls),Bernadette (Murray), sister-in-law,brothers-in-law,nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he Rest In Peace.

    Patrick (Patsy) Brady, Rochford, Essex, England/ Westmeath / Longford

    The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving family following a short illness bravely born on Tuesday, November 26 of Patrick (Patsy) Brady, Rochford, Essex, England and formerly of Coolnagun, Lismacaffrey, Streete, Co Westmeath. 

    Patsy is predeceased by his son Peter, Oct 2011, parents James and Annie Brady, his brothers Gene, Sean and Phelim. He will be sadly missed by his beloved Wife Mary, daughters Angela and Sharon, sons-in-law Paul and Lewis, grandchildren, Merine, Autumn, Ethan, Harvey and Skye, great-grandchildren Riley, Tyler, Oscar, Ivy, Skarlet and Tommy -Lee. his brother Kevin (Coolnagun), sisters Ita (England), Teresa (Wexford), Marion (Swords), brothers-in-law and a wide circle of family and friends in the UK and Ireland. May His Gentle Soul Rest In heavenly Peace.

    Patsy’s Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 31 in F P Guiver and sons funeral directors Rochford, followed by interment in Woodside Cemetery Benfleet Essex England. The Brady family would like to sincerely thank everyone who has gone out of their way to sympathise with us at this difficult time. A Mass in memory of Patsy will be held in his home church of St Mary’s, Boherquill, Westmeath, Ireland in the new year, your kind intentions will be remembered in the Mass.

    Patrick Francis Gaffney, Longford / Dublin

    The death occurred peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 of Patrick Francis Gaffney (born Longford June 29, 1942, lived in Dublin and then Fremantle, Western Australia). He was a loving husband, an affectionate and caring father, and a cheeky grandfather to Dara, Greta, and Ingrid. Our dad packed a lot into his 82 years. He could work a room like the best, leaving every occasion knowing the names and interesting details about all the people he met. Although he never witnessed a Dockers grand final win, he embraced each new year with hope and loved watching others strive for their best. Now, it is time to say, "Let's go," as he is reunited in heaven with his beloved Phyllis, our mum. With much love and gratitude, Franklin, Aengus, and Sarah-Jane (children) Dara, Greta, and Ingrid (grandchildren) Mili and Gareth (in-laws).

    The Funeral Mass for Patrick will be held on Friday, December 27 at Christ the King Beaconsfield, Western Australia at 2.30pm (Perth time)/6.30am (GMT). The Mass will be livestreamed and accessible HERE.

    Sean McKeon, Bury Park, Luton, England and formerly of Aughaboy, Killoe, Co Longford

    The death occurred peacefully in England on Saturday, November 30, 2024 of Sean McKeon Bury Park, Luton, England and formerly of Aughaboy, Killoe, Co Longford. 

    Predeceased by his parents John and Mary, brother Micheal and sister Kathleen. Beloved father of Sinéad, Rhys, Luke, Alyisha, Mairéad, Heavy, Wayne. Greatly missed by his brothers Jerome Luton UK, Fergal Tullamore, Sister Moira Armagh, Goretta Northampton UK. Grandchildren, nieces, nephews,his sister-in-law Anne, brother-in-law Michael, cousins and his many friends in the UK and Ireland. There’s always a place for you in our hearts, That way we’ll never really be apart. May he rest in peace.
