Bridget (Bridie) Whelan (née Quinn), Clooncoose and formerly Kiltybegs, Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family and in the care of the wonderful staff of Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar on Sunday, December 15, 2024 of Bridget (Bridie) Whelan (nee Quinn), Clooncoose and formerly Kiltybegs, Longford. 

Predeceased by her mother Katie, father John and son-in-law Seanie Reilly. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Ronnie, son Sean, daughter Sinead, daughter-in-law Melissa, sisters Kathleen and Philomena, brother John, grandchildren Shelly, Niamh, Olivia, Shauna, Ronan, Darragh, Peter and Katie, great-grandchild Ronan, brother-in-law Dan, nephew Daniel, niece Maria, Noel Allen – who was a part of Bridie’s household for many a year, relatives, many good friends and neighbours. May She Rest In Peace.

Reposing in her son Sean's home, Curradooey, Longford, (N39 A039) for family, close friends and neighbours only please on Tuesday, December 17 from 6pm until 8pm. Reposing then, to the general public in the Chapel of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Templemichael Glebe, Longford (N39 XE92) on Wednesday, December 18 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Funeral Mass at 11am on Thursday, December 19 in St Mel’s Cathedral, Longford, followed by burial in Ballymacormack Cemetery.

    John Joe Pettit, Main Street, Granard, Longford

    The death occurred peacefully at the Regional Hospital Mullingar with his family by his side and under the excellent care of Professor Clare Fallon and the staff in medical 2 on Saturday, December 14, 2024 of John Joe Pettit, Main Street, Granard, Longford. Predeceased by his father Joe, mother Monica and brother-in-law Eddie.

    John Joe will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sister Anne, brother Thomas, sister-in-law Maria, niece Rachel, nephews David, Joseph, John and Ed, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, many great friends and loyal customers. May He Rest In Peace.

    Reposing in Smith's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Granard (N39AX97), on Monday, December 16 from 6pm to 8pm. Removal on Tuesday morning, December 17 to St Mary’s Church Granard for Funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by Christian burial in Granardkill cemetery. John Joe’s Funeral Mass can be viewed HERE.     Kay (Kathleen) Fitzgerald (née Carroll), The Green, Lanesboro, Longford

    The death occurred peacefully in the devoted care of the staff at Mullingar Regional Hospital and previously the care of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Longford on Monday, December 16, 2024 of  Kay (Kathleen) Fitzgerald (née Carroll) The Green, Lanesboro, Co Longford. 

    Wife of the late Matty and sister of the late Seamus. She will be very sadly missed by her daughter Catrina, sons Jim and Rob, brother Michael, sister Marie, son-in-law Gary, daughters-in-law Caroline and Donna, much loved Nana to Tommy, Daisy, Leo, Joe, Conor and Moya, extended family, neighbours and friends. Rest in Peace.

    Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Wednesday, December 18 from 6.30pm until 7.30pm. Removal on Thursday morning, December 19 to St Mary’s Church, Lanesboro arriving for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon.     Kathleen Mahon, Grianard, Longford Town, Longford

    The death occurred peacefully in the care of the wonderful staff of The Manor Nursing Home, surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 14, 2024 of Kathleen Mahon, Grianard, Longford Town, Longford and formerly of Cornedden, Ballinalee. Predeceased by her parents John and Katie, her brother Patsy, sisters Ellen Lenehan (Moydow) and Mary Mimnagh (Cornafunshion).

    Kathleen will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, brother John (Dublin), her many nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law Mary, relatives and dear friends. Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace Kathleen.

    Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church St, Longford N39 KN66 on Monday, December 16 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7.30pm.

    Mass of the Resurrection on Tuesday, December 17 at 11am in St Mary's Church, Ennybegs, Killoe, Co Longford. Following Mass, Kathleen will be laid to rest in the family plot in Aughaboy Cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed live HERE.

    John (Jackie), Cullen Raheny, Dublin / Granard, Longford

    The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Beaumont Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 15, 2024 of John (Jackie) Cullen, Raheny, Dublin/ Granard, Co Longford, late of Arnotts Wholesale.

    Predeceased by his loving wife Margaret, his brother Frank and sisters Catherine, Rosie, Marie and Terry. Very sadly missed by his children Rosemary, Joan, Michael, Paul, John, Carmel and Oonagh, sons-in-law Alan, Larry, John and Bill, daughters-in-law Karlene, Sally, Paul’s partner Jackie, grandchildren A.J., Helen, Declan, Jack, Frances, Ellie, Rosie, Róisín, Emer, Grace, Olivia, Jack, Ciara, Emma, James, Eoghan and Shane, his sister Josie, sister-in-law Una nephews, nieces, kind neighbours and many friends. Special thanks to the Komfort Carers, and staff in Beaumont Hospital. May John Rest in Peace.

    John will be reposing at Jennings Funeral Home, Springdale Road, Raheny on Thursday, December 19 from 3 to 5pm. Funeral mass was on Friday, December 20 at Our Lady Mother of Divine Grace Church, Raheny at 10am followed by burial in Balgriffin Cemetery.       Pat Bratten, Kiltyreher, Carriglass, Longford

      The death occurred peacefully at home, in the wonderful care of his heart broken family after a long illness bravely borne. on Friday, December 13, 2024 of Pat Bratten, Kiltyreher, Carriglass, Longford. Predeceased by his parents Jimmy-Joe and Annie, brother Eugene and sister-in-law, Ann.

      Pat will be sadly missed by his family, his beloved wife and best friend Una, daughter Jennifer, sons Jason and Paul, his adored grandchildren Amelia and Rían, brother Billy and sister Rose (Sloane), son-in-law Brendan McCabe, sisters-in-law Annita Bratten and Olive Lennon, brothers-in-law Michael Lennon (Boston), Peter Lennon, Frank Hoye and Alan Sloane. Lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, neighbours and his many dear friends. Your life was love and labour, Your love for your family true. You did your best for all of us. We will always remember you. Rest in Peace Pat.

      Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford N39 KN66 on Sunday, December 15 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Removal from his home on Monday, December 16 to arrive at St Mary's Church, Ennybegs for Funeral Mass at 11am Following Mass Pat will be laid to rest in the family plot in Ennybegs Cemetery.       Joe Doran, Lisnamuck, Longford Town, Co Longford

      The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Bloomfield Hospital, Dublin on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 of Joe Doran, Lisnamuck, Longford town. 

      Pre-deceased by his father John, brother John, uncle Michael and by his cousin Anthony. Joe will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, beloved mother Pauline, dear sister Anne, brother-in-law Tadhg, god-daughter Jessica, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

      The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 12, 2024 of Anne Kane (nee McCabe), College Park, Longford town and formerly of Cattan, Co Leitrim.

      Pre-deceased by her husband Michael, sisters Bridie and Kathleen, brothers Mike Joe and Brian. Anne will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, daughters Bridget, Mary, Anne, Catherine, Rose and Theresa, sons Stephen and Bart, brother John, daughters-in-law Lucia and Sinéad, sons-in-law Paul McCann and Robbie Shaw, Theresa’s partner Colin McCord, sister-in-law Bernadette, grandchildren Robert, Róisín, Rian, Michael, Áine and Sarah, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.       The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 14, 2024 of Mary Mullaney (nee Kelly) Grattan Avenue, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim and previously Keadue/Ballyfarnon. 

      Predeceased by her husband Seamus. Mary will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her loving daughter Martina, son Gerard, daughter-in-law Karen, grandchildren Oisin (Yvonne), Seán (Caroline), Daniel and Deanna, great grandchildren Noah, Lucas, Aoibhínn and Robyn, her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours.       Margaret Reilly (née Jones), Sandymount, Dublin / Gortletteragh, Leitrim

      The death occurred peacefully, at her home in Sandymount, in the presence of her son and daughter on Saturday, December 14, 2024 of Margaret Reilly (nee Jones) Sandymount, Dublin/ Gortletteragh, Leitrim.

      Beloved wife of the late Pat Reilly, and much-loved mother of Michael and Miriam. Very sadly missed by her loving family, grandchildren Rory and Alice, son-in-law Owen, sisters and brothers, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest in Peace.

      Removal prayers will take place at St Mary’s, Star of the Sea Church, Sandymount at 5.30pm on Tuesday evening, December 17. Funeral Mass will take place at St Mary’s Church, Gortletteragh, Co Leitrim on Wednesday, December 18 at 1pm with burial in the adjoining cemetery afterwards.

      Pauline Nulty (née O'Shea), Legan, Longford / Athy, Kildare

      The death occurred peacefully in Mullingar Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 12, 2024 of Pauline Nulty (nee O'Shea) Legan, Co Longford and formerly Beaconstown, Athy, Co Kildare. 

       Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her husband Michael, her daughters Sharon and Samantha and her son Darren. her sons-in-law Cathal and Gerard, her beloved grandchildren Deane, Robyn, Jade, Alana, Gavin, Luke, Cora, Christopher, Abbie, Ethan, Elsa and Phoebe. Her brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. May she Rest in Peace.

      Reposing in the Manor Nursing home Chapel Edgeworthstown on Saturday evening, December 14 from 4pm until 6pm followed by prayers at 6pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, December 16 in St Mary's Church Legan at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.       Sally Toolan (née Mullagh), Drinagh, Strokestown, Roscommon / Foxford, Mayo

      The death occurred peacefully at the Regional Hospital Mullingar following a short illness, bravely borne, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 14, 2024 of Sally Toolan (nee Mullagh) Drinagh, Strokestown, Roscommon and formerly of Cashel, Foxford, Co. Mayo.

      Predeceased by her parents Jack and Ellie, sister Mary Josephine, and brothers Johnny and Gerard. Dearly loved wife of Brian and cherished mother of Fiona and Niamh, adored grandmother to JJ, Aoife, Liam, and Saoirse. Sally will be sadly missed by her sorrowing husband and family, brother Michael, sons-in-law John and Frankie, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. Rest In Peace.

      Reposing at McHugh's Funeral Home Strokestown on Monday evening, December 16 from 5pm to 8pm. Removal to St Cecilia's Church Curraghroe on Tuesday December 17 to arrive for funeral mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Cloontuskert Cemetery. Family flowers only please.       Sean Kelleher, Mullinadara, Carrigallen, Leitrim

      The death occurred unexpectedly on Friday, December 13, 2024 of Sean Kelleher, Nottingham, London and formerly of Mullinadara, Carrigallen, Leitrim. 

      Sean will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family, his partner Bushra, brother Gerry, sisters Maura (Nicholls),Bernadette (Murray),sister-in-law,brothers-in-law,nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he Rest In Peace.

      Predeceased by her father Jimmy Duke. Beloved wife of John and dearly loved mother of sons Brendan and David and daughter Tara. Deeply regretted by her mother Bridie, sister Audrey, brothers Paul, James and Cieran, sister-in-law Noreen, brothers-in-law Thomas and Martin, mother-in-law Ann, nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends.

      Reposing at Suaimhneas on the grounds of the Church of the Annunciation, Clarinbridge (H91 HW58) on Sunday evening December 15 from 7pm to 8.30 pm. Funeral Mass in Church of the Annunciation, Clarinbridge on Monday, December 16 at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the New Cemetery Athenry.

      Sean McKeon, Bury Park, Luton, England and formerly of Aughaboy, Killoe, Co Longford

      The death occurred peacefully in England on Saturday, November 30, 2024 of Sean McKeon Bury Park, Luton, England and formerly of Aughaboy, Killoe, Co Longford. 

      Predeceased by his parents John and Mary, brother Micheal and sister Kathleen. Beloved father of Sinéad, Rhys, Luke, Alyisha, Mairéad, Heavy, Wayne. Greatly missed by his brothers Jerome Luton UK, Fergal Tullamore, Sister Moira Armagh, Goretta Northampton UK. Grandchildren, nieces, nephews,his sister-in-law Anne, brother-in-law Michael, cousins and his many friends in the UK and Ireland. There’s always a place for you in our hearts, That way we’ll never really be apart. May he rest in peace.
