The death occurred peacefully at the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore on Monday, November 18, 2024 of Marian Hughes (nee McCormack), Cloncullen, Ballymahon, Co Longford. Predeceased by her sister Rita and parents William and Bridgie. Sadly missed by her loving husband Pat, daughters Orla and Carol, sons-in-law Stephen and Kevin, beloved grandchildren Sophia, Kevin, Kai, Eliana, and Cole, relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.
Marian will repose on Tuesday, November 19 from 5pm to 7pm at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Forgney, N91 AE35. Funeral Mass is Wednesday, November 20 at 11am with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

The death occurred peacefully at home with family and friends by her side, in San Francisco, CA on Friday, November 8, 2024 of Margaret T. McAuliffe (nee Spillane), 86 years old.
Devoted wife of Dan (Kiskeam, Co Cork, Ireland); loving mother of James (Florida); caring mother-in-law to Kristin (Florida); and admired Aunt to the Spillane (Ireland), McAuliffe (Ireland), O’Regan, Sheridan, Baglin, Cronin, and Moriarty families (San Francisco). Margaret was preceded in passing by her brothers: Edward, Jimmy, and Jerry. Originally from Polladoey, Aughnacliffe, Co. Longford, Ireland, an avid adventurer, Margaret emigrated to the United States in 1959. A truly dynamic force in the National and Local Irish communities, she was an especially proud member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, where she earned National recognition for her charitable work for many organizations including the Irish Immigration Pastoral Center, the United Irish Cultural Center (founding member), Good Shepherd Gracenter, Rebel Cork Ladies Association, United Irish Societies of San Francisco, the Archdiocese Council of Catholic Women, and Archbishop Riordan High School. Margaret was also an influential member of Saint Philip’s Church in Noe Valley for over 40 years. Her legacy will continue to be felt for generations to come as “that’s the way Margaret would do it.” In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you make a donation to the Irish Immigration Pastoral Center, United Irish Cultural Center, the Good Shepherd Gracenter, or your charity of choice.
