The death occurred unexpectedly on Friday, May 10, 2024 of Sheila McEvoy, Lislea, Ballinalee Co Longford and Mullingar Co Westmeath. Sadly missed and forever remembered by her heartbroken parents Brendan and Rita, sister Breda (Clinton), brothers Gerard (Stacy), Padraig (Teresa), Francis and Seamus (Grace), her boyfriend Saad, her adored nieces and nephews Kian, Ella, Aibhe, Rohan, Alexandra, Katherin, Ada, Hugh and Noah, her Aunts, Uncles, cousins, relatives, friends and neighbours. May Sheila Rest in Eternal Peace.

Reposing in Glennon's Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road, Longford N39EC81 on Tuesday, May 14 from 6pm to 8.30pm. Mass of the Resurrection in Holy Trinity Church, Ballinalee at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 15 followed by burial in St Emer's Cemetery, Ballinalee. House Private to family, friends and neighbours. Family flowers only please. To reflect Sheila's love for her nieces and nephews, donations, if desired, can be made to Barnardos Ireland care of Farrell's Funeral Directors, Ballinalee.

Noel P Gavin, The Bungalow, Abbeyshrule, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully at Thomond Lodge Nursing Home, Ballymahon on Monday, May 13, 2024 of Noel P Gavin, The Bungalow, Abbeyshrule, Co Longford. Predeceased by his wife Aideen. Beloved father of Annette (King), Caroline (Keegan), Patrick, Noel and Derry.

Noel will be sadly missed by his sons-in-law Christopher King and Matt Keegan, daughters-in-law Carol and Colette, sisters Geraldine and Margaret, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace.Reposing in Our Lady's Manor Edgeworthstown this Tuesday evening, May 14 from 5pm until 7pm. Vivienne Clendenning (née Morton) Ballymacormack, Longford

The death occurred in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home on Saturday, May 11, 2024 of Vivienne Clendenning (nee Morton), Ballymacormack, Longford. Predeceased by her husband Jim. Vivienne will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, son David, daughter-in-law Dianne, grandchildren Nathan, Sophie and Hannah, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. ‘Safe in the arms of Jesus’.

Resting at Laurel Lodge Nursing Home Chapel, Ballinalee Road (N39 XE92) on Tuesday, May 14 from 6pm until 8pm. Funeral Service in St Catherine’s Church, Ballymacormack at 2.30pm on Wednesday, May 15 interment afterwards in the adjoining churchyard. Family flowers only; donations if desired to the Church of Ireland Bishop’s Appeal, c/o Glennon Funeral Directors or any family member.

Colm Maguire, No 3 OPD, Smithfield, Legan, Longford / Marino, Dublin

The death occurred peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 12, 2024 of Colm Maguire, No 3 OPD, Smithfield, Legan, Longford and formerly Marino, Dublin. Predeceased by his parents Paddy and Masie, sister Kay and Brenda. Colm will be sadly missed and always remembered by his family, daughters Orla, Niamh and Cíara, sons-in-law Martin, Graham and Kenneth, his adored grandchildren Adam, Sophie, Jack, Lily, Sarah-Jane and Robert, brothers and sisters Brian, Eoin, Kenneth, Maura and Pat, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace Colm.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday, May 15 at 1pm in St Mary's Church, Legan followed with Cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Rd, Cavan for family.

Jean Taaffe (née Creegan) Legga, Longford / Arva, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of the staff at Cavan General Hospital on Saturday, May 11, 2024 of Jean Taaffe, (née Creegan), Legga, Moyne, Co Longford. Predeceased by her husband Jim and her baby son Mark. Sadly missed by her loving sons Christopher (Fiona), Raymond (Michelle) and Shane, daughters Marie Caffrey (Sean) and Joan Brady (Tomas), her adored twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, sisters, Sr Kathleen, Tess, Eilish, Belinda, Philomena and Helena, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, on Monday evening, May 13 from 5.30pm-8.30pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday, May 14 at 12 noon in St Mary’s Church, Legga, Co Longford, with interment afterwards in Moyne Cemetery. May her gentle soul rest in peace. Family home private, please. Anne Cahill (née Quinn) Mullingar, Westmeath / Longford / Mayo / Sligo

The death occurred peacefully in the tender and compassionate care of the staff and nurses of the Cáirde Unit, St John's Hospital, Sligo on Monday, May 6, 2024 of Anne Cahill (nee Quinn), Mayo, Longford, Mullingar and Sligo. Predeceased by husband Tom. Anne will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her son Tony and daughters BB (Leslie), Eileen (McNamee), Mo Cahill, Jackie Cahill and Trish (Higgins), her dear sister Margaret Murray, cherished grandchildren Tippi, Holly, Peter, Rory, Shay, Tara and Rachael, daughter-in-law Annie, sons-in-law Paul, Stephen, Geoff and Paul, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Matthew Ronan Farrell, Longford / Dublin

The death occurred peacefully in the excellent care of the staff at Ailesbury Nursing Home on Friday, May 3, 2024 of Matthew Ronan Farrell, Longford, London and Dublin. Ronan was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Lena, his siblings Helen, Ita, Toinette, and Tony. His gentle spirit and kind heart touched many lives, leaving a lasting imprint on a wide circle of friends and his extended family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Thomas Murray, Mount Merrion, Dublin / Castlepollard, Co Westmeath

The death occurred suddenly but peacefully at his home in his 90th year on Thursday, May 9, 2024 of Thomas Murray, Mount Merrion, Dublin/ Castlepollard, Co Westmeath, formerly of ESB. Predeceased by his beloved wife Kathleen (Kate) and his sister Maureen. Much loved father of Eamon, Deirdre, Angie, Maria, Conor, Cathy and Dave. He will be very sadly missed by his family, his 17 cherished grandchildren, sons-in-law Andrew, Conor, John and Brian, daughters-in-law Niamh and Sile, brother Patrick, sisters Kathleen and Finola, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours. May he Rest in peace.

    The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 10, 2024 of James Campbell, Cornaroy, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim. Son of the late Walter and Margaret. Predeceased by his cherished grandson Conor and his brothers Berry and Walter. Jim will be greatly missed by his adoring and heartbroken wife Kathleen (née Muldoon). A devoted father to Joseph, Walter, Mary and Edel. Fondly remembered by his daughter-in-law Emma-Jane and sons-in-law Ray and Tim. Adored grandad to Emily, Katie, Maeve, Mark, Róisín, James and Robyn. Forever missed by his sisters Doreen and Moira, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Sadly missed by all his nieces, nephews, neighbours and wide circle of friends. He will be missed beyond belief. Rest In Peace.

    The death occurred of Mary (Maria) Sheridan (nee Kirwan) Millbrook, Gorey, Wexford and late of Monaseed, Gorey, Wexford and Rathowen, Co Westmeath. Beloved wife of the late Sean, loving mother of John, sister of the late Pat, Kit and John. Sadly missed by her son, daughter-in-law Lucile and her much loved grandchildren Mae and Eoin, sister-in-law Ann, nephews and nieces.Mary, Michael, Evelyn, Clare, Kevn, Sile, ​​​​​​ Eoin, grand-niece Aisling and her many relatives, neighbours and dear friends.     The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by family, after a long illness bravely borne on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 of Sean Maguire, Ruislip, Middlesex and formerly of Mullaghmore, Drumreilly, Co Leitrim. Sadly missed by his son, Richard (Roz) and daughter, Sinead (David) and his grandchildren, Darcey, Ethan and Cayden. Beloved son of the late Sue and Paddy, Mullaghmore and cherished brother of Hugh (Mary), Mick (Rose), Geri (David), Susan (John), Anna Rose (Eugene), Robert and Paul. Deeply regretted by his nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, relatives and his wide circle of friends.
