The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, March 18, 2024 of Mary Mulligan (née Denning), Rathmore, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford. Predeceased by her parents James and Elizabeth, sisters Kathleen, Nell and Bridgie, brothers PJ, Paddy, Tommy and John. Mary will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, husband PJ, daughters Breda, Marie, Laura and Barbara and their partners, sons Padraig and Michael and their partners, sister Julia, brother Oliver, grandchildren Shalyn, Oisín, Robin, Matthew, Sean, Saoirse, Caoimhe, Jessie, Sophie and Éabha, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at her residence (Rathmore – N39 CC92) on Tuesday, March 19 from 4pm until 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Wednesday, March 20 in St Colmcille’s Church, Aughnacliffe at 11am, interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, and in the tender care of the nurses and staff at Bethany House Nursing Home, Tyrrellspass, Co Westmeath, aged 85 years of May McCarthy (née Lynch), Moorland, Marlinstown, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and formerly of Carrickduff, Dring, Granard, Co Longford. Recently predeceased by her loving husband Pat. Cherished and devoted mother of Ciarán, Finian, Jimmy, Rosemary, Pádraig, Colm, Áine, Finola, Siobhán, and Cormac; May will be sadly missed and forever loved by her sons and daughters, sisters Peggy (USA), Betty (Dublin) and brother Mel (USA), her adored twenty four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. Reposing at the Gilsenan’s Funeral Home, College Street, Mullingar N91 K660 on Wednesday, March 20, from 4pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday afternoon, March 21 at 1pm in the Cathedral of Christ the King followed by burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery Marlinstown. May's Mass can be seen on the live webcam here.
