The death occurred peacefully in Lisdarn Hospital, Co. Cavan following a short illness on Sunday, March 10, 2024 of Alexander P. (Alex) Lyons, Nutgrove, Rathfarnham, Dublin and Aughnacliffe, Co Longford. Predeceased by his parents Michael (Tiger) and Kathleen Lyons. Youngest brother of Ken, Michael, Kathleen and Carol. Sadly missed by his dear friends Caitriona, Padraic and family and his close circle of friends.
Alex will repose at Lakelands Funeral home Cavan (H12RF78) on Tuesday, March 12 from 6pm – 7.30pm. Service for Alex will take place at Lakelands Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 13 at 1pm followed by cremation. No flowers please. Donations to CRBI (Community Rescue Boats Ireland) or any animal rescue charity.

The death occurred peacefully, after a very short illness, in the care of the staff at Mullingar Regional Hospital on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 of Gerard Rooney, Lough Ree Park, Ballyleague, Co Roscommon and formerly of Cookstown, Co Tyrone. He will be very sadly missed by his family; Damien, Paul, Mary and David, brothers Robert and Brendan, sister Anne, daughters-in-law Jaime, Karo and Bernadette, son-in-law Brían, grandchildren Eleanor, Rosabel, Lily and Edith, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Gerard is predeceased by his parents Bob and Bella, sister Molly and brother Sean. May Gerard rest in peace.
Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Thursday evening, March 14 from 5pm until 7pm. Removal from his home in Lough Ree Park on Friday morning, March 15 at 11.30am arriving to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Ballyleague for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon.
