Sadly missed by his loving wife Mae, his daughters Annie and Niamh Ward (Moydow) and his son Donal (Cornwall), his sisters Clare Hurley (Tipperary), Peggy Twomey (Cork), Sr. Xavier (Tullamore), Julia Carroll (Dublin) and Annie Clavin (Kilbeggan), his brothers Noel (Ballingar) and Michael (Dublin), nieces and nephews, grandchild Sean, daughter-in-law Fran and son-in-law Alan, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, neighbours, relatives and friends. Reposing in Our Lady's Manor Nursing Home Chapel, Edgeworthstown, on Tuesday, March 5 from 5pm with prayers at 7pm. Removal on Wednesday, March 6 from his home to St Mary's Church, Legan, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Carrickedmond Cemetery. Family flowers only please. The death occurred peacefully at her residence in the care of her loving family in her 98th year on Sunday, March 3, 2024 of Bridget (Delia) Higgins (nee Kiernan), Aughawillen, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim and formerly of Ballyduffy, Moyne, Co Longford. Predeceased by her parents, sisters and brothers, infant daughter Bernadette, husband James, son Jim, daughter Mary Bannon and daughter in law Mary Higgins and great-grandson Daniel. Delia will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her daughters Patricia Ward and Angela Mulligan, sons in law Charlie Ward, Frank Mulligan and Hugh Bannon, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, wonderful neighbours and carers and a wide circle of friends.
