Geraldine Bissett (née McGrath), Fostra, Aughnacliffe, Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her family in the wonderful care of the staff of Cavan General Hospital on Friday, February 16, 2024 of Geraldine Bissett (née McGrath), Fostra, Aughnacliffe, Longford. Predeceased by her beloved daughter Rebecca, mother Teresa and her grand-daughter Emily-Jane. Geraldine will be forever missed by her loving family, her dear sons and daughters, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, her adored grandchildren, relatives, neighbours and friends. Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace Geraldine.
Removal from her home on Monday, February 19 to St Colmcille's Church for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass, Geraldine will be laid to rest in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please. Family home private at all times please.

Evelyn Gallagher, Kilmacduagh, Galway / Longford Town, Longford / Ballinamore, Leitrim / Dublin


The death occurred unexpectedly but peacefully at her home on Monday, February 12, 2024 of Evelyn Gallagher, Kilmacdaugh, Co Galway and formerly of Teffia Park, Longford and Ballinamore, Co Leitrim, (Ex C.I.E). Predeceased by her parents Mai and Matthew. Dearly loved and missed by her sisters Ann and Carmel, her brother Matthew, her treasured nephew Éamon, her brother-in-law Éamon Ó Ceallaigh, sister-in-law Mary Jo Devine, her companion Oliver Corbett, relatives, friends and close neighbours Willie and Josephine. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Sunday, February 18 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of The Resurrection in St Mel’s Cathedral on Monday, February 19 at 11am, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired to St Christopher’s Services, Longford. House private please.

Niall Phillips, Ballinagh, Co Cavan
The death occurred on Monday, February 5, 2024 of Niall Phillips, Anaheim, California and formerly of Ballinagh, Co Cavan. Niall, beloved husband and best friend of Isobel. Predeceased by his brothers Frank and Brian and his sisters Moya and Nuala, he will be greatly missed by his brother Pat, sisters Finola and Ethna and his many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will take place in the Holy Family Church, Orange County, California at 10am on Wednesday, February 21. May he rest in peace.

Donna Duke, Ballinakill, Glasson, Co Westmeath

The death occurred suddenly on Sunday, February 18, 2024 of Donna Duke, Ballinakill, Glasson, Co Westmeath. Predeceased by her beloved brother Neil. Sadly missed by her heartbroken parents Stephen and Christine, grandparents Joe and Annie Duke and nephew Jason, uncles, aunts, Cousins, and extended family. May She Rest In Peace.
Reposing at Flynn's Funeral Home, The Strand on Wednesday, February 21 from 6pm until 7.30pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday, February 22 in Our Lady's Queen of Peace Church, Coosan at 10.30am followed by burial afterwards in Coosan Cemetery. Mike Joe Murphy, Annaghmaculleen, Cloone, Co Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 19, 2024 of Mike Joe (Michael) Murphy of Annaghmacullen, Cloone, Co Leitrim, formerly of Sunnaghmore, Aughakiltubrid, Cloone. Predeceased by his dear wife; Elizabeth (Betty) (née Corr), his parents; James and Rose , his daughter; Deirdre Anne, sister ; Elizabeth (Betty) Plunkett, brothers in law; John Smith and Seamus Plunkett. Sadly missed by his loving daughter; Carmel, sons; Michael and Barry, daughter in-law; Madeleine, grandchildren; James, Grace and, David, his sister; Margaret, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Kathleen Gaffney (née Keon) Kinlough, Leitrim / Ballinamore, Leitrim / Ballyshannon, Donegal / Castleblayney, Monaghan / Carrick-on-Suir, Waterford

The death occurred peacefully at Advocate Christ Hospital after a short illness on Thursday, February 15, 2024 of Kathleen Gaffney (née Keon), Chicago Ridge, and formerly of Askill, Kinlough, Co Leitrim, Ireland.  Beloved wife of the late Noel. Loving sister to Maureen, the late Anne and John; Cherished mother of Genevieve (Tom), Noelle, Maeve (Padraic), Brenda (Craig) and Lorna (Michael); Adored Grandmother of Tara, Adrienne, Noelle, Catherine, Michael, Pierce, Siobhan, Sean, and PJ; The great granny to Abbie, Emma, Eoghan, Olivia, and Finn. 
Kathleen will be sadly missed by her brother in law Mick, sisters-in-law Margaret, Mary, Noreen, Angie, and Jean, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews in Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the UK and the USA, the entire extended Gaffney and Keon families and a wide circle of friends. Kathleen was a respected business owner whose Oak Lawn travel agency, Gaffney Travel, was well known in the Irish community and in the southwest suburbs. In her more than 40 years in business, she was a beloved boss known as Mrs G to everyone in the office. “There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in our hearts.”

The death occurred at his home on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 of Gerald Eugene Earley, 31 St Martin's Avenue, Luton, Bedfordshire, UK,  and formerly of Aghaginney, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by his parents, Jimmy and Betty Earley, his siblings, Seamus, Pauline, John and Christina. Sadly missed by his wife Ann Earley, and his children, Monica, Jacqueline, Lesley, Anthony, Amanda and Angela Earley. May He Rest In Peace.
Funeral Mass in St Patrick's Church, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim on Wednesday, February 21 at 11am with burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.     The family of the late Bernadette Edwards (nee Mimnagh) of Loughton, Essex who passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 in London, would like to thank most sincerely all those that sympathised with them on this sudden loss.
    Predeceased by her Mother and Father, John and Josie Mimnagh, Ballinalee, Longford, she leaves behind loving husband Andrew and their sons, Matthew and David. Sadly remembered by her brothers Sean, wife Geralyn and Tony, and nephews and nieces, Katie, Sean, Aileen, Niamh and Jane. 
    Funeral will take place on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Parndon Wood Crematorium, Harlow, Essex at 2.30pm.

    The death occurred suddenly, at her residence in Burnham on Crouch, Essex on Sunday, January 28, 2024 of Berna Casey, Burnham on Crouch, Essex and late of Kenagh, Co Longford. Predeceased by her beloved partner, Pat, her loving parents Frank and Lil, her sister Teresa and infant brother Edward.
    Sadly missed by her loving family, brothers - Jimmy and Francis, sisters - Marie (Carroll), Eilish (Casey- Boyce), Martina (Williams) and Jackie (Leonard), sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, colleagues and a wide circle of friends. May She Rest In Peace.
