Mary Sheridan (née Conway) Drumhaldry, Moyne, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully at home, in the loving care of her dear family on Thursday, February 1, 2024 of Mary Sheridan (nee Conway), Drumhaldry, Moyne, Co Longford. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Kathleen, her sister Lillian and brothers John, Frank and Jimmy. Mary will be sadly missed and always remembered with love by her family, husband Michael, her sons Eoghan and Alan, daughters-in-law Nicola and Ann-Marie, adored grandchildren Yahanna, Yasmine, Rhys Halle and Faye, brother David (Leixlip), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and dear friends. Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts, Rest in Peace Mary.
As it was Mary's wishes, her funeral will take place privately. No flowers please, Donations, if desired, to Longford Palliative Care Team, c/o Connell Funeral Directors, Church Street, Longford. Family Home Private At All Times Please.

Jimmy Donoghue (O'Donoghue), Main Street, Granard, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family after a short illness, on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 of Jimmy Donoghue (O'Donoghue), Main Street, Granard, Longford (formerly of Donoghue’s Hardware Granard). Predeceased by his wife Sheila (2017), son Joe (1992), son John (2018) and sister Elizabeth (2009).
Jimmy will be forever missed by his son Seamus, daughter in law Kate, his adored grandchildren James, Tadhg and Emma, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, relatives and his many friends including those from the community of his beloved Granard. May He Rest In Peace.
Reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Granard (N39AX97) from 4pm on Friday, February 2. Prayers at 6.30pm followed by removal to St Mary’s Church, Granard arriving at 7.20pm (Friday Mass at 7.30pm). Funeral mass on Saturday,  February 3 at 12 noon followed by Christian burial in Granardkill Cemetery.

Berna Casey, Burnham on Crouch, Essex, and late of, Kenagh, Co Longford

The death occurred suddenly, at her residence in Burnham on Crouch, Essex on Sunday, January 28, 2024 of Berna Casey, Burnham on Crouch, Essex and late of Kenagh, Co Longford. Predeceased by her beloved partner, Pat, her loving parents Frank and Lil, her sister Teresa and infant brother Edward.
Sadly missed by her loving family, brothers - Jimmy and Francis, sisters - Marie (Carroll), Eilish (Casey- Boyce), Martina (Williams) and Jackie (Leonard), sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, colleagues and a wide circle of friends. May She Rest In Peace.

Thomas McGuinness, Clonrollagh, Drumlish, Co Longford / Enfield, Meath

The death occurred unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, January 28, 2024 of Thomas McGuinness, Clonrollagh, Drumlish Road, Co Longford and formerly of Ballinaskea, Enfield, Co Meath. Predeceased by his parents Martin and Annie. Deeply regretted by his loving family, sisters Catherine and Maureen, brothers PJ and Frank, sisters-in-law Olive and Margaret, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May He Rest In Peace.
Reposing at his brother PJ's residence, Ballinaskea (A83Y303) on Friday, February 2 from 5pm to 8pm. Removal on Saturday, February 3 to the Church of the Assumption, Jordanstown arriving for Funeral Mass at 1pm followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Kathleen (Catherine) Kelly (née Farrell) Ballymakeegan, Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Sunset Lodge on Sunday, January 28, 2024 of Kathleen (Catherine) Kelly (nee Farrell), Ballymakeegan, Longford town and formerly of Graffoge, Ardagh. Predeceased by her husband Edward. Kathleen will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, daughters Ann and Eilish, sons Jimmy, John, Eamon and Aidan, daughters-in-law Judith and Boloro, son-in-law Tim, grandchildren Megan, Eva, James, Aidan, Callum, Ailith and Ermun, great-grandchildren Ciaran, Logan and Jamie, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Thursday, February 1 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, February 2 at 11am in St Mel’s Cathedral, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery.

The death occurred peacefully at his home on St Brigid's Day, Thursday, February 1, 2024 of Francis (Francie) Plunkett, Maughera, Finea, Cavan/ Westmeath. Predeceased by his parents, Harry & Mary Plunkett and granddaughter Isla Fae Plunkett. He will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife Sheila, children Gerard (Emer), Henry (Jasmine) and Frances (Damian), siblings Sr Maria, Liam and Patricia, grandchildren Luella and Tadhg, Donnacha, Maia, Faolánn, Isla (RIP) and Rhea, Oscar and Sonny, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends. Reposing at Reilly's Funeral Home, Kilcogy (N39W1D6) on Sunday evening February 4 from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, February 5 at 12 noon in St Mary's Church, Carrick, Finea (N91 TH22), followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. House strictly private. Family flowers only donations in lieu to Palliative Care Cavan c/o the funeral director.

Marie Moore (née Hennessy) Williamstown, Finea, Westmeath / Cavan

The death occurred peacefully at Sheelin Nursing Home on Thursday, February 1, 2024 of Marie Moore (nee Hennessy), Williamstown, Finea, Westmeath and formerly Tonagh, Mountnugent, Co Cavan. Predeceased by her parents and brothers. Sadly missed by her loving husband Eugene, children Angela, Paul, Louise and Derek, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons in law, daughters in law, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.
May she rest in peace. Reposing at her home on Friday evening, February 2 from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 3 at 1 pm in St Mary's Church, Finea. Interment afterwards in the local cemetery. House Private at all other times please.

The death occurred peacefully in the tender care of Oakwood Nursing Home, Roscommon on Thursday, February 1, 2024 of Michael Murphy, Avolan, Barrymore, Kiltoom & late of Strokestown, Athlone, Roscommon/ Kiltoom, Roscommon. Predeceased by his wife Catherine. Deeply regretted by his wife Veronica, sister, brothers, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. May He Rest In Peace.
Mass of the resurrection on Saturday morning, February 3 at 11am in The Church of the Risen Christ, Ballybay, followed by burial in Kiltoom Cemetery. Michael's family expresses their gratitude to everyone for your support at this difficult time.

The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of Lisdarn Unit, Cavan on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 of Vincent Maguire, Cordownan, Arva, Cavan. Beloved husband of Eileen and dear father of Caroline and Lorraine. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Annie, sister Mary, brothers Bernard, Jim, Pat and Aidan. Sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, sons in law Mark McKeon and Joe Farrell, his adored grandchildren, Sinead, Ciara, Ava and Eimear, sisters Alice Donohoe (Edgeworthstown), Teresa Maguire (Mullingar), Anne McDonald (England) and Helen Clarke (Cootehill), sisters in law Margaret and Hannah, brothers in law Tommy, Sean and Jackie, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road Cavan, Thursday evening, February 1 from 6pm until 8pm. Removal from his home on Friday morning, February 2 to arrive at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Coronea, for 11am Requiem Mass. Cremation afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
House private at all times please. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to Palliative Care Team, Cavan through donation box or Care of Declan Finnegan Funeral Directors or any family member. 

Patrick Donohue, Tuam Road, Mountbellew, Galway / Ballinagh, Co Cavan

The death occurred unexpectedly at home, with his wife Colette at his side, following a short illness, bravely borne on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 of Patrick (Paddy) Donohue, Tuam Road, Mountbellew, Galway and formerly of Ballinagh, Co Cavan.
Predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Maisie, and his nephew Keith. Paddy will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Colette (nee Haverty), sister Mary (Owens), nephews Shane and Tommy, brother-in-law Mervyn, relatives, extended Haverty family and a wide circle of neighbours and friends. May He Rest in Peace.
Paddy will repose at the Franciscan College Oratory, Mountbellew (H53 WE00) on Thursday, February 1 from 6pm to 8pm, followed by removal to St Mary’s Church, Mountbellew (H53 Y9K4). Lynda (Martha) Curr (née Bystram) Allenbrook, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim


The death occurred of Lynda (Martha) Curr (nee Bystram) of Allenbrook, Drumshanbo Co Leitrim, formerly of Shearwater, Woking, Surry, England. 
My wife Lynda (Martha) was from a large wonderful family (Bystram) too extensive to name here, they all loved her dearly and will miss her as long as they live on. Sadly missed by her husband, Robert (Bob) and her two children, Stephen (Alfie), and Hannah. Seven grandchildren, Joseph, Luca, Finn, Taeya, Sunee, Felix and Laila. We are all lost for words to say how much she will be missed. May She Rest In Peace.
Remains will leave her home at 9am on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 to arrive at Pure Reflections Resomarium, Abbeyland, Navan, Co. Meath for Resomation at 12 noon. Family flowers only please.
