Agnes (Aggie) Dermody, Mullinroe, Dring, Longford
The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Our Lady's Manor Nursing Home, Edgeworthstown, on Monday, January 8, 2024 of Agnes (Aggie) Dermody, Mullinroe, Dring, Longford. Recently predeceased by her sister Mary Langan and Melvin. Deeply regretted by her nephews Patrick and John, nieces Ena, Róisín and Mary, grandnephews Niall, Robert and David, cousins, relatives, close friends and neighbours. May Aggie Rest in Peace.
Reposing on Wednesday evening, January 10 in Our Lady's Manor Nursing Home Chapel, Edgeworthstown N39VR04 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday, January 11 at 1pm in St Columba's Church, Mullinalaghta with burial immediately afterwards in local cemetery. Funeral Mass will be live streamed on "Gowna and Mullinalaghta" Facebook Page or by downloading the App "Belltron Streaming" and search for St Columba's.

Jimmy McCreanor, Bannon Terrace, Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, January 8, 2024 of Jimmy McCreanor, Bannon Terrace, Longford town. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Mary Frances, by his sister and by his brothers. Jimmy will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, beloved wife Annamai, darling daughter Jennifer Doherty (Kilbarry), son-in-law Jason, grandchildren Carley and Bradley, sister Marie, brothers Brendan, Kevin and Clement, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and his very good friends. May he rest in peace.

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny on Sunday, January 7, 2024 of Elizabeth Farrell, formerly of Newtownpark Avenue, Blackrock and Derrygowna, Newtowncashel, Co Longford. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Mary. Elizabeth will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, sisters Sr Antoinette, Martha and Phil, brothers Peter, Michael and Pat, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the staff at Autumn Lodge, St Joseph's Hospital, Longford on Sunday, January 7, 2024 of James (Jim) Kiernan, Aughagreagh, Ballinalee, Co Longford. Predeceased by his parents, Larry and Mary and brother Jack. James will be deeply missed by his brother Larry, sisters Peggy Fallon and Anne O' Reilly, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. RIP.
Reposing at Shepherds Funeral Home, Athlone Rd, Longford N39K381 on Tuesday, January 9 from 5pm to 6pm followed by removal to St Joseph's Church, Purth arriving at 7pm. Funeral mass on Wednesday, January 10 at 11am with burial in adjoining cemetery.

Joseph (Josie) Ireland, Gowlan, Longford / Celbridge, Kildare


The death occurred peacefully, in the loving care of the nurses and staff of the James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown on Friday, January 5, 2024 of Joseph (Josie) Ireland, Gowlan, Longford / Celbridge, Kildare. Predeceased by his parents Kevin and Bernadette (Detta), sister Susan, brothers Paul and Blaise, sisters-in-law Mary and niece Bernadette. Joseph will be greatly missed by his family, sisters Freda and Brigid (Farrell), brothers Mel, Kevin, James, Paddy and Ciaran, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle Ciaran Brannigan, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. The death occurred suddenly but peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 4, 2024 of Ann McGuirk (née Hughes), Annaly Park, Longford Town, Longford. Predeceased by her parents Jimmy and Patsy and by her brother Eddie. Ann will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, husband Paddy, sons Clinton and Brendan (Bennie), brother-in-law Henry, sisters-in-law Annie Quinn, Teresa McKiernan, Bernadette Brosnan, Eileen Kelleher, Mary Agnes Casey, Rose Mannion and Liz Hughes, aunts Carmel Ward and Anne Carberry, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. William (Willie) Fox, Creggy, The Pigeons, Athlone, Westmeath


The death occurred peacefully and gently, in the kind care of the doctors and staff at Mullingar Regional Hospital, with his family at his bedside on Saturday, January 6, 2024 of William (Willie) Fox, Creggy, The Pigeons, Athlone, Westmeath. Predeceased by his father Hugh, granny Mary, and Aunt Beasie. Willie is very sadly missed and deeply mourned by his wife Ann, mother Maura, brothers Pat and Rioch, sisters Margaret (Corkell) and Claire (Fitzpatrick), brothers-in-law Padhraic and Donal, sisters-in-law Anne and Mary. He's especially missed with great memories by his treasured nephews and nieces Hugh, Daniel, Conor, Paul, Kenn, Susan, Una, Eimer, Michelle and extended family. Also by his beloved farming fraternity, so many great neighbours, and wonderful friends. Rest peacefully Willie.
Reposing at The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tang on Monday, January 8 from 4pm. This will be concluded by the Rosary at 6.45pm. The death occurred at her home on Friday, January 5, 2024 of Anne 'Nan' Dolan (nee McGovern) Greagh, Corlough, Cavan and formerly Leganomer, Aughawillan, Co Leitrim.
Predeceased by her husband Pat Joe ‘Sporter’ and her only brother John Joe. She will be sadly missed by her extended family, her carers, neighbours and many good friends. Rest in Peace.
Reposed at Smith’s Funeral Home, High Street, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim N41 TD62 this Sunday evening, January 7 from 4pm concluding with prayers at 6pm. Elizabeth Hassard (née Smyth) Borim, Swanlinbar, Cavan


The death occurred peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2024 of Elizabeth Hassard (nee Smyth) Borim, Swanlinbar, Cavan. Wife of the late Robert and mother of William and Alan. Deeply regretted by her loving sons, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Safe in The Arms of Jesus.
Lizzie is resting at Smith's Funeral Home, High Street, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim N41 TD62 on Tuesday, January 9 from 6pm-8pm. Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 10 in Saint Augustine's Church, Swanlinbar at 2pm followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Maxwell Bennett (Ledwith), Ballinafid, Multyfarnham, Westmeath


The death occurred on Sunday, December 3, 2023 of Maxwell Bennett (Ledwith), Wood End, Coventry, UK and formerly of Ballinafid, Multyfarnham, Co Westmeath. Sadly missed by his family, Anthony, Ashley, Andrea, Alison and Aidan, their mother Alison, his sister Zita and brother Adrian, nephews, nieces, relatives and wide circle of friends. May he rest in peace.
Max will be received into St Patrick's RC Church, Deedmore Rd, Coventry on Thursday, January 11 at 5pm. Requiem Mass will take place on Friday, January 12 at 10.30am followed by Cremation at Canley Crematorium in the Cannon Chapel. Afterwards at Stoke Boys Rugby Club where a celebration of Max's life will continue. Donations would be gratefully received for Coventry Moyton Hospice Clifford Bridge Rd Coventry CV2 2HJ.
