Thomas (Tommie) Hanlon, Bracklin Road, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford
The death occurred, peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff of Mullingar General Hospital, on Thursday, April 13, 2023 of Thomas (Tommie) Hanlon, Bracklin Road, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Mary and sisters Anastasia and Mary (Dolly). He will be sadly missed by his brother Michael (Dublin), sisters Margaret (Peggy) (Virginia USA), Bridie and Martha (London), sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. May He Rest In Peace.
Removal from Kelly's Funeral Home, Athlone Road, Longford N39 K381 on Monday, April 17 to arrive at Saint Mary’s Church, Edgeworthstown for Funeral Mass at 12:00PM with burial afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery, Longford. Laura Gilmore Anderson, Edinburgh, Scotland and formerly of Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, at home surrounded by her family, at 11.11am on Saturday, April 8, 2023 of Laura Gilmore Anderson, Edinburgh, Scotland and formerly of Longford Town, Longford. Laura will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, her beloved husband Paul, dear parents Ann and Brendan, sisters Susan, Aisling, Janette and Natalie, brothers Andrew and Stephen, mother-in-law Margaret, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, Chip, relatives and a wide circle of friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Friday, April 14 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Saturday, April 15 at 11am in St Mel’s Cathedral, Longford, followed by cremation at 2.30pm in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. Philomena Rooney (née McGarry), UK and formerly, Rathowen, Co Westmeath


The death occurred, peacefully at her home in Hazel Grove, Stockport, United Kingdom, on Monday, April 3, 2023 of Philomena Rooney (neé McGarry), daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret McGarry, of Rathowen, Co Westmeath.
Prior to moving to Cheshire, Phil had lived with her late husband, Dr Kevin Rooney, in Leeds, West Yorkshire. She was predeceased by her husband; her two sons, Francis and Eamon Rooney; her brothers, Eamon, Mel, Michael and Patrick McGarry and her sisters, Bernadette O’Donnell, Maureen (Sr Gertrude SJC) and Peggy (Sr Bernadette SJC) McGarry. She is survived by her two children, Clair Gadzama and Brian Rooney; her grandchildren; great grandchildren; her cousins, the reverend Sisters Maura Brid McGarry OLM and Eileen McGarry OLM, of the Convent of Mercy, Longford and her nephews and nieces in Ireland and the USA. Phil lived to 92 years of age and enjoyed a very full life. Generous to a fault, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Peter’s Church, Hazel Grove, Stockport, UK, at 12 noon on Monday, April 24, 2023. Sean Stewart, Ballyfermot, Dublin / Legan, Co Longford


The death occurred, peacefully in Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Longford surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, April 10, 2023 of Sean Stewart, Longford and formerly of Spiddal Road, Ballyfermot, Dublin. Sean will be very sadly missed by his loving wife Ann, sons Glen, Andrew and Aaron, sisters Jean, Maureen, Margaret and Valerie, brother Tony, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May His Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.
Sean will be reposing in Stafford’s Funeral Home, Ballyfermot on  Thursday, April 13 from 2pm to 5pm, removal on Friday morning, April 14 to St Matthew’s Church, Ballyfermot, arriving for 11.30am Funeral Mass followed by a cremation service in Newlands Cross Crematorium. Mary Rafferty (née Kane), Jamestown, Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim / Cavan / Roscommon


The death occurred, peacefully, in the UK, on Saturday, March 25, 2023 of Mary Rafferty (née Kane), Bolton, England and formerly of Tully House, Jamestown, Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim / Cavan / Roscommon. Predeceased by her son Eugene and her loving husband Frank. She will be sadly missed by her sons, Kevin and Kieran, her grand-children, Caitlin, Dayna, Andrew, Joseph, Hannah and Rosie, also her sister Margret and brother Seamus. She will be remembered by many family and friends from Roscommon, Leitrim and Cavan. May She Rest In Peace.
Mary's body will be flown back home from Bolton where she will have a funeral Mass at St Osmund’s, Long Lane, Bolton on Wednesday, April 12 at 11am. She will be taken from Smiths Funeral Home Barrack Street, Granard, Co Longford N39 AX97 on Friday, April 14 for Funeral Mass at The Church of The Immaculate Conception, Coronea, Co Cavan at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Parish Of the Church of the Immaculate Conception and Fr O’Gorman for their help. Martin Moore, Tullynally, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath, N91 H393 / Durrow, Laois


It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martin Moore of Tullynally, Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath, and formerly of Tubberboe, Durrow, Co Laois, who passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 9, 2023.
Predeceased by his parents Tom and Margaret Moore. Much loved brother of Ailish, Geraldine and Annmarie. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephew, brothers in law, aunts, cousins, and those in the wider community. Martin will be fondly remembered by all those that knew him and worked with him over the years. May Martin Rest In Peace.
Martin will be reposing at his home in Tullynally, Castlepollard (N91 H393) on Thursday, April 13 from 4pm until 8pm. Removal to the Church of the Holy Trinity, Durrow, Co Laois (R32 CK11) on Friday, April 14 arriving for 1pm Funeral Mass, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Heather Percival (née Tuthill), Clybaun Road, Galway City, Galway / Mohill, Co Leitrim


The death occurred, peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Aperee nursing home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, April 13, 2023 of Heather Percival (nee Tuthill), Clybaun Road, Galway city/ Mohill, Co Leitrim. Beloved daughter of the late Kathleen and George Tuthill. Predeceased by her loving husband Alec and her brother Alan. Deeply missed by her sons John and David, daughter Sandra, brothers Austin, Adrian and David, son-in-law Tony, daughter-in-law Susan, John's partner Trish, grandchildren, cousins, the extended Percival and Tuthill family, and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing at the O'Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91 V1K8) on Sunday, April 16 from 3pm to 4.30pm. A funeral Service will be celebrated for Heather at 12 noon on Monday, April 17 at the Collegiate Church of St Nicholas, Lombard Street, Galway. Private cremation to follow. Family flowers only. Patrick McIntyre, Bromsgrove, England and formerly of Glebe Street, Mohill, Co Leitrim
The recent death has taken place of Patrick McIntyre, at his home in Bromsgrove, England and formerly of Glebe Street, Mohill, Co Leitrim.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Toni, sons Michael, Matthew, Danny, daughter Ana, brother Michael, sister Mary (Roben), grandchildren, great grandchildren, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and a large circle of friends. May he rest in peace.
Funeral will take place in England on Friday, April 28, 2023.

Noreen (Nora) Josephine Atkinson (Landy NÉE Wallace) England and late of New Kiltoom, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath / Louisburgh, Mayo


The death occurred, peacefully, on Friday, January 13, 2023 of Noreen (Nora) Josephine Atkinson (Landy née Wallace), Ruislip, Middlesex, England and formerly of New Kiltoom, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath and Louisburgh, Co Mayo. Beloved wife of Brian and the late Eamonn and dear mother of Paul and Louise. Noreen will be very sadly missed by her husband and family, son-in-law Gary, daughter-in-law Jackie, her cherished grandchildren Natasha, Heather, Aidan, Pearse and Christy, her brothers Anthony, Stephen and Tommy, sister Mary, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends. May Noreen rest in peace.
Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 1pm at Our Lady of the Visitation Church, Greenford, Middlesex, England, followed by cremation at Breakspear Crematorium, Ruislip. The Mass can be viewed at Our Lady of the Visitation
A Memorial Mass will take place on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 12 noon in the Church of St John the Baptist, Whitehall, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath followed by interment of ashes in the adjoining cemetery. In preference to flowers, Brian, Paul and Louise would appreciate donations to Alzheimer's Research UK (JustGiving)
