Newtowncashel healthcare business wins top accolade at Longford Enterprise Awards

A healthcare business from Newtowncashel is this year’s winner of the County Longford Enterprise Award for 2019.

Precision Healthcare took the top prize and will now represent Local Enterprise Office Longford at the 21st National Enterprise Awards on Wednesday, May 29 in the Mansion House in Dublin.

Precision Healthcare provides corporate wellness programmes and medical screening as well as occupational health medicine to corporate clients.

Other winners at the County Longford Enterprise Awards luncheon held at Viewmount House on Thursday, March 7 included Lough Ree Distillery, a gin and whiskey distillery based in Lanesboro; Zobi, a garment production house based in Aughnacliffe and Dynamic Control Solutions, Edgeworthstown, who provide bespoke solutions in the machine building, robotics and process programming to the manufacturing, automation and process industries.

Michael Nevin, Head of Enterprise with LEO Longford said: “Precision Healthcare has already become a success story and the judges were particularly impressed by their business strategy/their job creation potential along with their ability to service large corporate clients.”

Mr Nevin added: “The National Enterprise Awards are a great barometer for what the LEOs are doing and every year the standard is getting better and better and we are delighted to have Precision Healthcare representing us in the Mansion House, Dublin in May.”

Cllr Luie McEntire, Cathaoirleach Longford County Council, spoke about the important role small businesses have in the local and national economy.

He commended the four finalists on their achievements, building successful businesses in an increasingly competitive environment and winning customers, not just on a local scale but also winning national contracts.

The awards ceremony was just one of the many highlights of Local Enterprise Week 2019, organised by the Local Enterprise Office Longford.
