About Lough Ree Distillery
Lough Ree Distillery was launched in October 2018 however the journey to create their premium Sling Shot Gin started 18 months previous. Owned by Peter, Michael and Sheila Clancy, Sling Shot Gin is a bold combination of four different distillates, classic gin botanicals, fresh mint, citrus and local peat.
Lough Ree Distillery has been bold in how they present their Sling Shot Gin – the distinctive blue bottle is cleverly designed with limited labelling. The tag line ‘Our Aim is True’ is nestled nicely on their Sling Shot label and ties neatly with the story behind Sling Shot – a real distillery, not pretending to be something it is not, and proud of what they are.
With a vision ‘to bring to the world, from our hometown of Lanesboro, the finest, the most highly regarded Irish Spirits’, Lough Ree Distillery have massive plans for the business. This year will see the construction of a multi million euro distillery which will allow them to lay down their own whiskey which will be released in 2023.
Lough Ree Distillery will also open its visitor experience creating additional revenue and give the opportunity to turn every visitor into an ambassador for the Lough Ree Distillery brand. Parallel to this Lough Ree Distillery will continue to develop their portfolio and drive sales both nationally and internationally.
