WATCH | Red letter day for sport in Longford as Edgeworthstown Sports Hub is officially launched

It was a red letter day when the Edgeworthstown Sports Hub, developed as part of The National Physical Activity Plan, was officially launched on Sunday, January 27, 2019.

Longford Sports Partnership secured funding for the Edgeworthstown Sports Hub following a competitive bids process through Sport Ireland which was accessed through The Dormant Accounts Fund.

The Hub, located at St Mary’s Community Campus on the Granard road in Edgeworthstown, gives the people of Edgeworthstown and surrounding area the chance to experience the benefit of The Sports Hub.

Laura Doyle, Edgeworthstown Sports Hub Coordinator, said the main objective of the Sports Hub is to increase the number of people of all ages participating in sport and physical activity.
