WATCH: Singer and mental health advocate 'Bressie' completes 321km charity kayaking adventure

LARGE crowds gathered this Thursday evening to welcome Irish singer and mental health campaigner Niall 'Bressie' Breslin as be completed mammoth charity fundraiser.

Bressie started his 321km kayaking tour along the length of the river Shannon, dubbed The Rising, last week with all monies going to the youth mental health charity A Lust for Life.

Niall and his support crew started at Dowra in County Cavan on the shores of Lough Allen and ended at the mouth of the Shannon in Limerick city at around 3pm this Thursday.

Famous faces including social media stars Tadhg and Derry Fleming finished off the last stage of The Rising for the charity too, as well as a group of athletes from Special Olympics Ireland.

The father and son Fleming duo, famous for their comedy videos on TikTok, said that ‘teamwork’ was key to their kayaking success.

Describing the journey in three words, Niall said it was “very, very difficult” and that he “totally underestimated it” (watch the video above). Around €150,000 was raised from this event.

A Lust for Life was founded by Niall. Their schools' mental health programmes are free of charge, and have been introduced to one in three primary schools nationwide.
