According to Holly Johnson, the writer of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s single 'The Power of Love', it was never meant to be a Christmas song.
However, the 1984 number one classic hit is always associated with the festive season, even more so since the video for the single features the nativity scene.
'The Power of Love' was displaced at the top of the charts in December '84 by Band Aid’s 'Do They Know It’s Christmas?'
Midlands band Cronin recorded 'The Power of Love' in Drumlish and it is a stunning version which we're sure you will enjoy.
Cronin will play two hometown shows over the festive period, their first Christmas show in three years.
They play Cassidy's Olde Village Inn, Drumlish, Co Longford on St Stephen's Night, Monday, December 26 and on
Thursday, December 29 they play The Stables at Smiddy's Mullingar, Co Westmeath.
