Weather experts warn winds of 110km/h could batter parts of the country this weekend
Some parts of the country could be hit with gale force winds of up to 110km/h this weekend amid a washout forecast from Met Éireann.
As Met Éireann has predicted a weekend of rain and wind across the country, some weather experts have warned that Sunday night could potentially see stormy conditions in parts of Connacht, Munster and Donegal.
At the moment it seems like there is some uncertainty as to whether or not conditions will develop into a storm. However, Cathal Nolan of Ireland's Weather Channel has said there is the risk of winds reaching up to 110km/h based on trusted weather models.
The weather man said: "Sunday night has the potential be very windy in the west and northwest with a risk of gales or severe gales. There are some varying outputs from the most trusted models at the moment so the verdict is still out on this. However some models indicate the risk of winds reaching up to 110km/h or maybe even a little higher for parts of west Connacht and West Munster, as well as for Donegal."

Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather has also been watching the progress of the storm over the Atlantic and has agreed that there is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding whether or not it will hit the west on Sunday night and into Monday morning.
Still a lot of uncertainty about potential storm Sunday night into Monday but the trend across models now is to see center of low off the West coast. Four different models showing wind gusts forecast for midnight Sunday night here. pic.twitter.com/oEUCMbW04t
