Longford and Melview FC pride as James Abankwah makes Serie A debut for Udinese

St Mel's College, Longford has this week extended congratulations to past pupil James Abankwah who made his first Serie A start for Udinese versus Juventus last weekend.

A school spokesperson said it was 'amazing to see our past pupil achieve his dream'

James played for 59 minutes and in his debut start he had 34 touches of the ball and achieved a passing accuracy of 71.4% with 15 passes.

James is also a former player with Melview FC and the club are very proud of his achievements.

A well established Republic of Ireland underage international player, James also won an FAI Cup medal with St Patrick's Athletic in 2021.
