A brand new jeep, thousands of euro in cash and two All Ireland hurling tickets are among the prizes up for grabs in a major GAA fundraising draw.

Club Longford, consisting of Longford GAA supporters to offer financial support for the training and preparation of the county GAA teams, are putting the finishing touches to its eagerly awaited annual draw.

The top prize is a brand new €40,000 Hyundai Tuscon jeep, with the draw's second prize being a €1,500 Center Parcs holiday voucher while third and fourth prizes will see €1,000 prizes being handed out.

The top two prizes come with cash equivalents attached in an event which is arguably one of Longford GAA's biggest yearly fundraisers.

Among the notable other prizes include two All-Ireland football final tickets with an overnight stay and dinner in Dublin's Croke Park Hotel as well as two nights bed and breakfast in Cork's four star Montenotte Hotel.

Martin Skelly, spokesperson for Club Longford, paid tribute to the event's main sponsors, Martin Nally of Nally Brothers, Ballymahon as well as other leading promoters, Micheal Nolan, Peter Hanley Motors, Ballymahon, Elgin Energy, Lir Analytical Ltd with the remaining prizes sponsored by Longford Co Board.

“Club Longford chairman Mark Connellan launched the draw and said it was very important that we continue to raise funds on behalf of Longford GAA Supporters Club with the ultimate objective of providing an adult and underage centre of excellence training facility for our county teams,” he said.

Mr Skelly also told of how county board chairman Albert Cooney revealed there would be greater financial incentives for clubs to sell tickets with more proceeds expected to filter down to the grassroots level of the organisation.

Tickets for the 2023 Club Longford Draw are priced at €50 each or at €125 for three.

All tickets must be purchased before the draw takes place itself on July 22.

Anyone wishing to purchase a ticket can do so by contacting any member of Longford GAA Supporters Club, any member of Longford GAA Co Board or by emailing martske@hotmail.com
