Just when you thought things couldn’t get any better for handball star Paul Brady, the Mullahoran man made it a season to remember when securing the US Open title in Los Angeles at the weekend.
Fresh from being crowned World Handball champion for a record breaking fourth time at Dublin’s CityWest Hotel two weeks ago, the 33-year-old added yet another title to his name when seeing off Armagh’s Charly Shanks in the US Open in Los Angeles at the weekend.
Brady had earlier seen off former American number one Emmet Peixoto and then Seattle’s Sean Lenning in the semi-final before emerging victorious over fellow Ulsterman Shanks in an All-Irish final.
The win also ensured Brady picked up a winner’s cheque of $10,000, and in so doing cemented his name as the greatest player the game of handball has ever produced.
