Longford Town staged a terrific late comeback to collect all three points against Wexford at a rain soaked Ferrycarrig Park on Friday night to move to the top of the First Division table with and still remain unbeaten in the league with a game in hand.

Wexford had taken the lead in the 17th minute through their dangerous striker Danny Furlong and looked like they might hold out for a surprise win.
But Longford Town showed a lot of character in working hard to get back into the game and they got their deserved equaliser in the 77th minute through Sam Verdon with Peter Hopkins scoring the winning goal in the 84th minute.
