South Longford saddened by death of ‘very popular, quiet man’ PJ McDonnell

Late PJ McDonnell, Mornine, Moydow, Longford

All in the parish of Carrickedmond and surrounding areas of south Longford were saddened when news broke on Friday, February 1 last of the sudden death of PJ McDonnell, Mornine, Moydow, Longford in Mullingar hospital following a short illness.

PJ was a very quiet man and a special son. He attended St Christopher’s day care centre in Longford and was a very popular member among the students and staff there.

He always looked forward to coming back home from his daily activities in St Christopher’s to be in the environment he loved the most, that being in the company of his parents Bridgie and Larry and his brothers  Paul, Barry and Mark  and sister Edel.

PJ was so well looked after by his loving family and will now be sadly missed by each one of them especially by his loving father Larry, mother Bridgie, brothers Paul, Barry and Mark and sister Edel, sisters-in-law Lisa, Julie and Aodhnait and brother-in-law Jose, nephews Jack, Shane, Dara, Killian and Rian, aunts and uncles Lilly Boyce, Packie Kenny, John and Mairead, cousins Lorraine and Catherine, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom we extend our sincere sympathy.

PJ lay in repose at the family home in Mornine on Sunday, February 3, with Funeral Mass taking place the following day at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Carrickedmond. He was laid to rest in Carrickedmond cemetery. May he rest in peace.
