She met her future husband Joe at a dance in Strokestown and for 67 years they lived happily together, 28 years in England and the remaining 39 years back in Ireland and almost all that time in Rathcline.
May was a lovely lady and her warm and welcoming greeting as well as her beaming smile endeared her to everyone that she met. She was quietly spoken, kind and caring nature and May had a very ladylike manner.
May loved to walk, chat and play cards and she was an excellent neighbour and friend to so many. She was a lady that loved to travel with America and Australia being particular favourites for her.
