Last December, Niamh stunned audiences at Other Voices Dingle where she played three very special sets. 2024 began with Niamh being named in The Irish Times’ noted ‘50 People to Watch in 2024’ list, shortlisted in the Best Emerging Artist category at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards and invited to perform as part of the ceremony, invited to perform at The London Irish Centre as part of their A, and added to the incredible ‘Tradition Now’ line-up at the National Concert Hall in Dublin.

Speaking on preforming in Longford for the "first time", 33-year-old Niamh said: "I am excited, I have never preformed in Longford before. It is going to be a solo show and I play guitar and banjo and obviously going to be singing as well. It will be  mostly songs from the album I released in March.

"It is called Yellow Roses and I released it on March 29 and there are ten songs in total. There are nine originals and one traditional song. There are four or five singles and I release the first one this time last year so it has been a nice journey since then. I have been playing music my whole life and I have been taking it more seriously in the last five or six years. I have had such a nice reception from fans who aren't my family and friends. I appreciate any kind feedback."

Following the concert music lovers can enjoy a series of free gigs through the town, more details of First Fridays Music and events can be found HERE.

The programme is coordinated by Backstage Theatre in partnership with Longford County Council, with funding support from the Arts Council and Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
