Ireland’s love of poetry was celebrated in every town in the country. In Longford a relaxed informal evening of poetry by local poets was held in Athena Fine Art Gallery.
To mark the occasion Eat the Storms, the poetry podcast, host an All-Ireland Poetic Relay Race.

Eat the Storms presented a special episode featuring 32 poets, each representing one of the 32 counties on the island of Ireland, each reading one poem for their county, passing from county to county in a poetic relay race. Host and writer Damien B Donnelly produces the episode.

Anne Tully represent Longford. Anne's poem was a tribute to the almost forgotten tradition of fair days and her heritage as a dealers daughter.
