St Mel’s Musical Society have unveiled the leading lady who will take up the role of Elle Woods in their production of Legally Blonde The Musical.
Aishling Farrell will call on all her performing prowess as she takes on the challenging role.
Once again the show will be staged in St Mel's College Sports Hall with the major move of installing fully tiered seating. The local artistic group are well advanced in the production of their exciting 2024 stage show.
Aishling plays Elle Woods – the pretty-in-pink sorority president turned lawyer who shows everyone that being yourself never goes out of style!
No stranger to the stage, Aishling has amassed a wealth of experience in her young years and is a popular choice for the strong and beautiful character.
Legally Blonde is a 2007 musical. It's based on the novel Legally Blonde by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film of the same name.
The show tells the story of Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrols at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner. She discovers how her knowledge of the law can help others, and she successfully defends exercise queen Brooke Wyndham in a murder trial.
Throughout the show, very few characters have faith in Elle, but she manages to surprise them when she defies expectations while staying true to herself.
St Mel’s MS was established over 40 years ago by a dynamic group of Longford natives who wanted to bring the arts to the community in an amateur capacity. Since then they have grown in size, have moved from the Temperance Hall, to Backstage and most recently to St Mel's college. They have won quite a few accolades over the years.
One of the biggest developments in this year's production is the introduction of tiered seating in the auditorium, which will enhance the audience experience.
Tickets for Legally Blonde The Musical are on sale. The show will run from 2nd - 6th of April at St Mel's College Sports Hall. Get your tickets now at https://gr8events.ie/stmelslegallyblonde
