Funeral details announced for late Tanya Dunne (née O'Shea) as tributes continue to flow

The funeral arrangements of Tanya Dunne (née O'Shea) of Stracomer View, Bundoran and formerly of Belleek have been announced as tributes from the Bundoran GAA club, of which she was a member, in expressing their heart broken grief.

Tanya, who was just 42-year-old passed away yesterday at Sligo University Hospital after a long and brave battle with cancer. 

A posting on behalf the Bundoran GAA Ladies club they said: "Today we lost one of the best Tanya Dunne. Tanya played for the club's senior team, coached U12, U13 and U14 and Tanya also served time as Club Secretary.

"Tanya gave so much of her time and knowledge to our club and she will be sorely missed. May we express our sincere sympathy to her husband Rory and the O'Shea and Dunne families. May Tanya's kind and gentle soul rest in eternal peace."

The Realt na Mara club itself said: "There are no words to express the sadness and sense of loss among our community following the news today of the sad  passing of our underage Ladies Coach Tanya Dunne. 

"Tanya's  courageous  battle against her illness over the last few years was an inspiration to all those around her. 
May we  express our sincere sympathy to her husband Rory and the extended Dunne and O'Shea family's. May Tanya's kind and gentle soul rest in eternal peace."

Her involvement in GAA circles also extend to her native Erne Gaels from Belleek in Co Fermanagh and Aodh Ruadh GAA club in Ballyshannon, where she manager of the popular Saimer Child Care pre school, located just in front of Fr Tierney Park. 

Tanya's remains are reposing at the family home with a walk-through wake today (Thursday) from 12 noon until 9pm. House will be private at all other times.

Tanya’s cortège will leave the family home tomorrrow, Friday at 10.30am, travelling to Belleek GAA Grounds, on to Mulleek Road, Castlecaldwell, Tawnynoran, Lough Shore Road, to Saimer Child Care the Rock, and on to Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Bundoran, for 12 noon Mass, followed by interment Saint Ninnidh's Cemetery.

Much loved wife of Rory, adored daughter of Bernie and the late Martin, cherished sister of Barry (Tanya), Jacinta (Ronan), Mark (Julie), Martin (Tracey), loving auntie to Mya, Eva, Alex, Ben, Oscor, Ollie, Pippa, Ayda, Gia, Ruby, Riley, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended Dunne & O’Shea families and all her dear friends.

Donations, if so desired, can be made to the Oncology Unit at Sligo University Hospital, or North West Hospice, c/o Patsy McCauley Funeral Director, or any family member.
