ALERT: Major safety issue identified in off-road vehicles purchased by people in Ireland

A major safety issue has been identified in certain off-road vehicles purchased by people in Ireland.

According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), an issue was identified with Can-Am Commander, Maverick Trail and Traxter side-by-side vehicles which could lead to injuries.

The operator’s guide maintenance schedule section contains incorrect information; lack of proper maintenance of the clutch may lead to clutch failure including fragments to be ejected from the vehicle.

The type/number of models are Commander, Maverick Trail and Traxter series, the affected model years are 2022 and 2023.

The engines affected are HD7 or 700 engines.

There are approximately 5 affected products in Ireland.

BRP is sending out an updated Maintenance Schedule Booklet containing the revised maintenance schedules.

For more information regarding the product safety information notice please see link to the BRP website here or contact BRP on +44 20 88 65 04 89.
