An Irish "activist academy" is offering aspiring activists across the country the chance to attend a free bootcamp on campaigning.
Founded by Martina Quinn, the Alice Academy for Activists is offering 20 people the chance to learn campaign skills from leading activists and communications professionals at a free bootcamp in January 2024.
Applications are now open from people across the country over the age of 18 from all walks of life who are in the early stages of their progressive activism.
Successful participants will stay at a Dublin City Centre hotel and will learn about campaigning from some of Ireland’s best-known activists, journalists and politicians over the course of three days.
Commenting today (October 12), Martina Quinn said, "If you are passionate about achieving positive social change, and would you like to make Ireland – and the world – a better place, then the Alice Academy for Activists is for you.
"We’re eight years in business now, and – over those eight years – we’ve been privileged to work with leading organisations across Ireland’s public and charity sectors. It’s our pleasure to start giving back with the Alice Academy for Activists."
Participation in the Academy is free, including a welcome reception, overnight accommodation on Thursday 11, Friday 12, and Saturday 13 January in Dublin, with breakfast at the hotel each morning.
Lunch will also be provided on Friday and Saturday, with a group evening meal on Saturday 13.
Applications are open until Friday November 3.
