Gardai seek witnesses after cyclist is 'knocked off' bike on motorway ramp

The incident happened on Monday evening

WITNESSES are being sought following a collision close to a busy motorway earlier this week.

Gardai in Portlaoise have issued an appeal following the incident which happened at the off ramp of Junction 17 on the M7 motorway on Monday evening.

In an appeal, posted on social media, they say a female cyclist was knocked off their bike by a white van at around 5.30pm.

Any road users who saw the incident or who have dash cam footage are asked to contact Portlaoise garda station on 0578674100.

No further details have been disclosed publicly and it's know known if the cyclist was seriously injured.
