National charity launches new campaign for businesses

Pieta, Ireland’s National Suicide Prevention charity have just launched their new fundraising campaign, Go Amber ahead of World Suicide Prevention Day 2023.

In advance of World Suicide Prevention Day this September, Pieta is inviting businesses to sign-up, fundraise and donate to help tackle suicide.

The ‘Go Amber’ campaign will kick off on World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10 and run until October 10, coinciding with World Mental Health Day.

Stephanie Manahan, Pieta CEO said: “This year, the theme for World Suicide Prevention day is ‘Creating Hope Through Action’ and by rallying Irish SME’s and communities we are showcasing the remarkable impact the collective action can achieve.

“We invite businesses of all sizes to join us, engage in fundraising events, donate generously, and help spread awareness of Pieta’s crucial services by connecting with local communities and creating hope through action.”

This marks the first ever fundraising campaign by Pieta around these important dates as the charity reflects on the difference made to over 70,000 lives since Pieta began in 2006.

This year alone Pieta has already provided over 26,000 free therapy hours across the country. Fundraising and donations covers over 85% of the cost of services.
