ALERT | Longford road will be closed for three nights to facilitate emergency railway bridge repair

Local motorists are being asked to note that a Longford road will be closed for the next three nights to facilitate the emergency repair of a railway bridge.

The  L-1093 from its junction with the N4 at Ballynagoshen to its junction with the L-1092 at Oldtown will be closed from 9pm to 5am each night on Monday, March 14; Tuesday, March 15 and Wednesday, March 16. 

The closure is required to facilitate emergency repair works of the Irish Rail bridge at Lissaghdegnan.

The detour route is: From Ballynagoshen cross, take N4 to Lissardowlan. At Lissardowlan take the L-1092 to Oldtown.

Funding for Longford's Backstage Theatre and Cruthú

Longford's Backstage Theatre has been awarded a share of funding announced by Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin.

Longford County Council advises that local access will be permitted to the rail bridge but it will not be possible to pass under the rail bridge during the hours of the closure.
