The scene of the collision this morning
A man was arrested by Midlands gardaí following a crash which saw a busy road in Tullamore temporarily closed this morning.
The single car collision occurred after 10am on the Daingean Road in Tullamore when a blue Volkswagen Passat lost control and collided with a wall.
The car was travelling in the direction Tullamore town when it lost control and spun before striking a wall at the entrance to a house.
It’s understood there were two men and a woman in the car when the collision occurred. Although the car was badly damaged, the occupants are not believed to have suffered any serious injuries in the collision.

Gardai said a man aged in his 20s was arrested at the scene.
The road was temporarily closed while emergency services dealt with the aftermath of the collision.
