Longford councillors  in jovial exchange over walkways

There were comical scenes in Granard last Friday as two local politicians facetiously took aim at each other's track record in delivering key local projects.


Independent Cllr Turlough McGovern and Cllr PJ Reilly brought plenty of laughter to the council chamber at last week's Granard Municipal District meeting when discussing proposed infrastructural upgrades.


Cllr McGovern was first out of the political traps when referencing how Cllr Reilly's work in establishing a walk to Finea could go hand in hand with upgrade works atBallywillan Bridge.


Cllr Reilly responded by joking at how it “took 20 years” to bring on stream a similar type walking route in Cllr McGovern's political backyard of Granard.
