Man before Longford District Court  charged with possessing knife and pepper spray

A man has been charged with allegedly been found with a knife and pepper spray on the same day he was also accused of being involved with a violent disorder incident in Longford town.


Damien Wierzchos (22), 77 Abhainn Glas, Edgeworthstown, Longford, was charged with the alleged offence under Section 9 of the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act 1990 at Battery Road, Longford on May 6, 2022.


During the same incident, Mr Wierzchos was also charged with the alleged possession of a butterfly knife.


Those two alleged offences also fell on the same day Mr Wierzchos was allegedly one of five men involved in committing violent disorder at Camlin Mews, Longford.
The case was ultimately adjourned to a sitting of Longford District Court on March 14 next.
