Local action group, Spin Longford, have announced details of a family day to take place in Longford town on Saturday, May 4.
The packed programme of activities is to raise funds for the local refuge, Bethany House.
The highlights will include an artisan market and a visit from local bikers, who run the annual Christmas toy run in support of Bethany House and Mullingar hospital.
Longford Vintage Club are also displaying their recently restored Longford County Council tractor and will of course be promoting their annual family day in Connolly Barracks on the June bank holiday weekend. There will also be face painting and activities for children with many of the most popular Disney and TV character mascots scheduled to appear.

There will be a BBQ throughout the afternoon and the market will trade from 11am to 5pm. Later that evening, attention will switch to the popular Andy Byrne's Bar for a fundraising evening where popular local entertainer, DJ Duggy, will be doing his thing from 9pm til late.
