Longford GAA club granted €61,000 for upgrade works

One Longford sports club will benefit from a government fund established to development of community infrastructure. Clonguish GAA will receive €61,000 for upgrade works at their grounds.

The Community Recognition Fund aims to support the development of community infrastructure and facilities for the entire community in recognition of the contribution being made by communities across the country

Senator Micheal Carrigy has welcomed today's announcement by Minister Heather Humphreys of funding for projects under the Community Recognition Scheme. Clonguish GAA will receive €61,000 towards the completion of resurfacing works of the carpark at their grounds Allen Park.

The  facilities are also used by the local sports hall, by parents at Scoil Mhuire NS Newtownforbes and by the large numbers walking at the new nature walk.
