St. Christopher's Services, Battery Road, Longford.
The proposed industrial action in St Christopher’s Services, Longford has been postponed, pending the start of talks in the Workplace Relations Commission on Thursday of next week (May 23).
Notice of industrial action had been served on the management of the care facility by the Forsa Union on May 7.
The dispute centres on the failure of St Christopher's to pay increments due to employees, which had been promised under a previous agreement.
The HSE had directed the St Christopher’s management not to pay the increments for the time being.

A ballot of union members resulted in 98% of Forsa members agreeing to strike action.
There is a three week notice period but at the halfway point in that period, the possible action has been suspended.
In a statement released to the Leader, Manager of St Christopher's, Derek Scanlon, said, “I am pleased to confirm that earlier this week we made an offer to Forsa to enter a WRC conciliation process and that our offer was accepted.”
“The meeting has been arranged for Thursday May 23 (10am). I am hopeful that we will be able to make an offer that is acceptable to Forsa and their members,” Mr Scanlon added.

The statement emphasised the good working relationship that Mr Scanlon and St Christopher’s has with unions.
“We value our staff immensely and their tireless work for our service users. I would also like to thank Forsa for postponing the industrial action to allow for talks.
“Forsa works tirelessly on behalf of its members and we aim to continue our positive working relationship with all our Unions and staff,” Mr Scanlon added.
Forsa official Tony Martin told the Leader that the demands of his union remain unchanged entering into the WRC process.
“The issue in this dispute is very clear as far as Forsa is concerned. We are seeking the payment of the increments to staff as they fall due,” he stated.
“Forsa is going into the WRC process with a good heart and an open mind. I will be the sole Forsa official who will attend the talks, alongside some worker representatives from St Christopher’s,” he added.
Mr Martin has had “extensive experience” dealing with the WRC in the past. “My experience in relation to WRC processes has been positive,” he commented.
