Sarah Jermyn, the Football For All Coordinator with Melview FC, recently completed the setup of a Ladies Beginners Football Programme in Longford.
A 12 week Ladies Beginners Football course, sponsored by 'Beyond the Call of Beauty', begins on Tuesday, February 22 from 10.30 to 11.30am in The Mall.
Sarah explained, "It's going to be a fun based programme aimed at complete beginners. It's all about getting out, having fun, meeting other women, and learning the fundamentals of football.
"After the 12 weeks there will be the option of moving into a club setting. The set up will still be the same, training once a week, fun based, no pressure, with the possibility of the option of a friendly match once a month."
She added, "I'm very passionate about getting ladies involved in sport, especially football as there are no football opportunities for girls over 16 in Longford."
