Promising local boxer Martin Nevin representing Longford with distinction in Denmark

Regarded as one of the most promising young boxers to come out of Longford for quite some time is Martin Nevin and the highly rated 12-year-old performed with distinction in the Denmark Box Cup last weekend. 

Although he lost his bout on a controversial split decision in the U-15 category, young Nevin was delighted to get the opportunity to compete at International level along with other members of the Olympic Boxing Club in Galway.

According to his proud father Mickey, this was a learning curve for Martin in his boxing career and there are better things to come from the St Mel’s College student.
